The minister without portfolio and vice president of the SPS, Novica Toncev, finally received his assignment today: in this term in the Government of Serbia, he will deal with the development and improvement of underdeveloped municipalities, “Blic” has learned.
On October 28, Toncev, along with other ministers of the Serbian Parliament, took the oath without being the only one who did not know what position would be assigned to him by Prime Minister Ana Brnabic.
Now, that issue has finally been resolved, and due to his new position, he resigned today as councilor of the Surdulica Municipal Assembly.
– I am proud and I feel responsible to be part of the Serbian Government team and in the opportunity to further help the improvement of Surdulica through my commitment to the development of underdeveloped municipalities – said Toncev on that occasion.
His entry into the government was one of the biggest surprises, especially since he often criticized the SNS.
He recently openly criticized the SNS, threatening that “five, six thousand people will block the Belgrade-Skopje highway if any of the directors of state institutions of the SPS are replaced.”
Following this statement, SPS leader Ivica Dacic said that Toncev apologized to Vucic.
