The recent dismissal of the head of the Public Company “Vode Vojvodine” cannot accelerate Novi Sad’s plans to build a luxury residential, commercial and tourist complex on the coast, because first it is necessary to fulfill several conditions, said the Prime Minister Provincial in one of the rare reviews of the project. that part of the public calls “Novi Sad in the water”. Hydrological study, change of law and public tender: these are the steps that, according to Mirović, can lead to the realization of this project.
After the recording of the surveyor from Šodroš reached social networks, an explanation came from the mayor’s office: measures are being taken for the hydrological study prepared by the Institute “Jaroslav Černi”. However, there was no explanation why these measurements were made by a private company, which bought a nearby shipyard and planned to build residential buildings there, depending on the study and movement of the embankment.
“Well, I don’t know who the surveyor is, or who hired him, I really don’t know,” says Deputy Mayor Milan Đurić.
The same answer was given by the director of “Urbanismo”, a company that must present the necessary measures to the “Jaroslav Cerni” Institute.
“Who hired the surveyors? Well, I don’t know, to tell the truth,” says the director of “Urbanism”, Dušan Miladinović.
The study will show how the Danube behaves in the Kamenicka ada area and what could be the consequences of moving the embankment and building a residential complex where the riverbed is today. The city’s plan was to start construction this year, but they were hampered, among other things, by the refusal of the public company “Vode Vojvodine” to give its consent.
“At first, they thought it shouldn’t be this way, or they thought it could be omitted. As you can see, it can’t be,” said Provincial Prime Minister Igor Mirovic.
For the first time, the president of the Diputación publicly discusses the project that part of the public calls “Novi Sad on water.”
“I kept saying that, but no one will listen to me … Now they have finally started to listen to me, but hey, time has passed,” says Mirović.
When he wants to say, Mirović does not answer specifically, but is assumed from the continuation of the story.
The land that is a water belt is not a construction site. So, someone through a change of law and a change of law, and that is not the Provincial Government and it is not “Aguas”, someone has to approve that law. Who, that is now the question that the city asked the competent person. I said it on time and now they have asked the competent ministry that question, “he said.
“It was not a question. What did you ask? Just so that both ministries, the Ministry of Construction and the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Management, would pronounce on the issues expressed by JP ‘Urbanizam’ and ‘Vode Vojvodine'”, Miladinović says.
While the city and the province await clarification from the profession and the Belgrade authorities, non-governmental organizations and opposition parties in Novi Sad have come together to oppose this project. They collected more than ten thousand signatures and started the so-called “shodrosh patrols”.
“The idea of the Šodroš patrols came about somehow spontaneously, because those of us who walk there regularly are the only witnesses to what is happening there,” says Olivera Radovanović of the Vojvodina Green Network.
This is how, he says, they figured out how to measure terrain. And who will build in that field, if the profession allows it, must be decided in the contest, says the president of the Diputación. Only then, he adds, can the project be carried out.
