Novi Sad Fair ready to receive patients (PHOTO)

Tonight, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, Dr. Nebojsa Stefanovic, and the Mayor of Novi Sad, Milos Vucevic, visited members of the Serbian army and volunteers from the city of Novi Sad who are making final preparations for the opening of a temporary kovid hospital in the lobby of the Novi Sad Fair.

As Minister Stefanović pointed out, although the occasion is not joyous, as the space for the accommodation of patients who have contracted covid is being prepared, it is encouraging to see good cooperation between the army, the local self-government and the people of the Fair.

According to him, since the President of the Republic issued the order to enlist in the army during the first wave, from March until today, its members have been engaged in numerous tasks and have been with the people wherever necessary, so that we can win. this disease as quickly as possible. – I also want to thank the people of Novi Sad who were also sacrificed and present at all times. I would also like to thank Mayor Vučević and the entire team of people. It can be seen that this cooperation and good cooperation give results – said the Minister, emphasizing that joint, serious and hard work allowed everything to be ready at the Fair in just 24 hours.

In the words of the mayor of Novi Sad, the announcement was made in little more than 24 hours.

– The Novi Sad Fair hall is ready to function as a temporary hospital in the next period. This is caused by the circumstances and the development of the epidemiological situation in Serbia and Vojvodina. According to the proposal of the Provincial Secretary of Health, the Ministry of Defense, the First Brigade of the Army and the City of Novi Sad, together with the Fair of Novi Sad, provided everything. Many thanks to all the soldiers and volunteers of Novi Sad and to all who participated in the preparation of everything – said Vučević. Considering that the epidemiological situation in our country is not calming down, with the establishment of the Novi Sad Fair as a temporary kovid hospital, an additional capacity of 312 hospital beds was obtained. Tonight’s visit was also attended by the Commander of the First Brigade of the Army, Brigadier General Zoran Naskovic.
