“The Ministry of the Interior takes care of all citizens of the Republic of Serbia. Their safety is an absolute priority and we do everything possible to make all children and adults feel safe, both at home and on the street. It is important to distinguish between leaving home and “Kidnappings are extremely rare in our country and the police solve them efficiently, quickly and without delay. If we are talking about a potential crime, the police, in cooperation with the prosecution, will immediately take all available urgent measures, “Davidovic said.
It adds that if the police, in cooperation with the prosecution, deems it necessary to publish a photograph of a missing person, in connection with a crime committed, the Ministry of the Interior inevitably does so immediately and alerts the public immediately.
“Unfortunately, the public often talks about a large number of missing adult citizens, which is absolutely untrue. This creates a false sense of insecurity and misleads citizens. When it comes to missing adults, it is mostly people. who have left their homes of their own free will and do not want to expose themselves in any way, including people with dementia, the mentally ill, people who want to leave their partners or enter marital and extramarital unions. some kind of public record is a violation equal to their right to leave their home, since they have the absolute right to do so and the police cannot prevent them from doing so. It also happens that our families report our disappearance and we find their bodies a short time later, and this is a case. of suicide, ”adds Davidović.
He highlights the records of the defunct “Tijana Jurić Foundation”, founded by Igor Jurić, as well as the “Missing Serbia” site, claiming that they are not credible.
Do you believe in the veracity of this information?
“The registry of missing persons, of the ‘Tijana Jurić Foundation’, is not credible and contains a lot of inaccurate data on missing persons. During the checks, we discovered that the disappearance of 14 persons was never reported to the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Serbia . who according to our verifications was detained in extradition, then a person who went to Italy 20 years ago and another who went to Germany 32 years ago, and we find that he lives and works there, in the same place there are nine people who are listed as missing , but we have discovered that searches have been suspended because their bodies have been found or declared dead. Also, for 11 other people listed as missing on the ‘Missing Serbia’ website, they have meanwhile been found and their posts have been suspended. There are also two people from the criminogenic environment on the site, who are being searched by the police and who have been convicted. to several years in prison. “
Davidović calls on citizens to report any disappearance of a minor or adult to the police.
“The police will immediately and urgently take all necessary measures and actions within their competence in cooperation with the competent prosecutor’s office. As I said, the safety and protection of all citizens is an absolute priority for us,” concludes Milan Davidović.
