– My life was reduced to four steps in the part where my sink is and two across the room. There is a shared toilet, right next to the cafe kitchen. I have electricity, I can use the bulb as much as I want, but it bothers my view. I damaged my eyesight in the solitary confinement of the Sputnik prison: a woman who, according to the indictment, was supposed to overthrow Montenegro, quietly confesses to us, visibly in poor health!
This woman from Novi Sad was sentenced by the first instance verdict of the High Court to three years in prison for participating in the attempted “coup” on the day of the parliamentary elections in Montenegro in 2016. Her stay on the premises of Serbian diplomatic mission was forced to cancel by an arrest decision, after which he left the courtroom and fled to the embassy of his home country by force of circumstances.
Those eight squares are now your universe. You can open the windows only by the edge, it also has a terrace, to which you hardly go out. There are no closets and is missing in the closet. He is mostly at the table, where he is going through his torment. She complains that in addition to her impaired eyesight, she also suffers from high blood pressure.
– Don’t take pictures of me. I don’t want anyone to feel sorry for me, we obey their wish.
And Branka’s days and nights mingled. Besides the time, appointments … If it weren’t for her mobile phone, which is her only contact with the outside world, her family would go crazy.
– I usually spend nights in the dark, awake, thinking about my daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren, who were born in my days in prison. Miss them a lot. I think about how a beast can never be as creatively evil and cruel as a human being. And that this torture and political persecution, to which I am exposed for the fifth year, is a consequence of that very fact. I spend my days interrupting them with dreams and talking to my family.
Everything he has lived through over the years can be seen in his eyes, his lost smile, his trembling hand. Above all, he says, eat canned dry foods and fruits.
– Svetlana Tijanic, a wonderful creature, got it for me. She is hired here as a cleaner, she travels from Danilovgrad and treats me like her mother. The expelled ambassador Vladimir Božović also provided me with human and moral support. It is a pity that you have experienced it in your Montenegro. Upon arriving at the Embassy, I was visited by nuns from the Duga Monastery, where I stayed with the blessing of Blessed Metropolitan Amfilohije. They strengthen me spiritually and are my great support.
Although she was diagnosed with angina pectoris in 1986, after which she was treated at Sremska Kamenica, she began treating her thyroid gland in Novi Sad. Unfortunately, all of those illnesses got much worse after she was arrested on election night in Podgorica. She also suffered from dermatitis due to the stress and torture to which she was exposed.
– I have constant liver pain. The gum surgery was performed in the embassy’s cafe-kitchen, without anesthesia! The fillings fell out, cavities and periodontitis appeared. In prison, I went on a hunger strike twice, almost a month, and I lost 27 kilograms, which further aggravated my condition. There they treated me on an outpatient basis. Superficial. As an insured from Serbia, I was not allowed to receive treatment in the Montenegrin health care system, and on November 23, 2018, my treatment in a private hospital was interrupted. I have not had access to a doctor since. I buy high blood pressure medicine on my own and on my own.
I FOLLOW ANPHILLOQUIA
AMBASSADOR Bozovic informed me that Metropolitan Amfilohije had freed his noble soul. As a man, I miss his physical presence very much, and as a believer, I know that he moved into the kingdom of heaven. He honored me with his visit to the prison and was the source from which I drew faith, strength, love, courage and hope all the time. Before going to the hospital, he planned to come visit me. Unfortunately, God so decided, and the metropolitan fell asleep without having the opportunity to thank him for all the kindness and help he gave me – says Branka sadly.
