The connection point of the first metro line from Makiš to Mirijevo with the third is Trg republike, while with the second line, which will connect Zemun with Mirijevo, it intersects at two points, under the Manjež Park and near “Stark Arena “. We remind you that the first two lines intersect at Sava Square.
– The construction works of the metro will begin on November 1 of this year and there will be no stops until 2030! Until then, we will complete these two lines – says Deputy Mayor Goran Vesić in a conversation with “Novosti”. – The conceptual design of the depot in Makiš will be completed in April, so works can begin in November. The construction of the deposit will cost us 70 million euros. The conceptual design of the first phase of the first metro line, from Zeleznik to Karaburma, will be completed in November. Next, commercial contracts will be signed with the French side, which is in charge of the subsystems of electrical machines and trains, and the Chinese side, which will carry out the construction works, so that we can start working immediately on the first line from the deposit without any delays. In May, we will announce a competition for the conceptual design of the first 17 metro stations. Local architects will be invited and we want each metro station to be different, to “talk” about that part of the city, the history of Belgrade and Serbia.
According to the deputy mayor’s words, the first metro line will be completed by 2028. The design of the second line should be completed in 2023 and the one built by 2030. In ten years, according to the plan, the capital will have a total of 41 kilometers of metro with 42 stations and two lines that will cover most of the city.
The novelty is that line one has now lost two stations, so instead of the previous 23, it will now have 21 stations, as the “Ranžirna” and “Palata pravde” stations were eliminated. The two meter line, instead of 20, will now have 21 stations and Block 18 has been added.
As stated by the director of the EP “Metro and train of Belgrade”, Stanko Kantar, for the safety of the passengers, all stations will have a “dor screen”, that is, a glass that will open when the composition arrives at the station .
– At first, three wagons with 120 passenger seats will be purchased, but the entire metro will be designed for four train compositions. Thus, in the future, the capacity of the metro can be increased. First we will build subway stations and then the “mole” will go through the tunnels. These special machines are designed by the Chinese company “Power China”. Its construction and installation will take 18 months and it is done only for our conditions, because the geology of the soil layers is in the first line. We are also trying to reduce the depth of the stations on the route, since only one meter deeper in the ground if the station leaves, the construction costs us a million euros more – says Kantar.
It also reveals that a machine will excavate one part from Makiš to the center and the other from Ada Huja, so they should meet. The estimated value of the works for the first phase of the first line is 1,830 million euros and 4,400 million euros for the first two lines of the line.
TO BE
According to Deputy Mayor Vesić, Belgraders will be able to see what the subway and the exhibition space will be like in the Republic Square. In addition, the stand will be in suburban municipalities. Citizens will also be able to vote on what type of compositions they want, inspired by the rivers of the capital or based on the motifs of the flag and the coat of arms of the city.
