The Serbian head of state will travel to Montenegro for the first time since he held high positions in power. This act has great symbolic significance for the unity of the Serbian people as a whole, and especially for our compatriots who were attacked by the outgoing regime of Milo Đukanović.
The arrival of Vučić to pay tribute to the great cleric and restorer of the faith can be interpreted as the opening of a new page in the relations between the two fraternal states, which have been reduced to the lowest possible level by the will and hostile movements of the DPS oligarchy in recent decades. Vučić’s arrival to say goodbye to Amfilohije is just a metaphorical update of what the President of Serbia has already done and is doing for our people in Montenegro: from allocating money for the construction of the Serbian House in Podgorica to rebuilding temples and helping Associations committed to protecting the cultural and spiritual identity of Serbs. .
Let us remind you that Metropolitan Amfilohije will be buried tomorrow in the Church of the Resurrection of Christ in Podgorica, and in addition to Vučić, the Serbian member of the Presidency of BiH Milorad Dodik, Patriarch Irinej and senior officials of the Serbian Orthodox Church and the churches locals will attend the ceremony. The Bishop of Budva-Niksic, Joanikije, said this morning that Vučić’s arrival at the funeral would mean “even better and closer relations between Serbia and Montenegro, and that is what the people want.”
