Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabić said after the crisis staff session that from tonight until Monday only grocery stores, pharmacies and gas stations will operate, but that there will be no curfew.

From tomorrow to Monday, the work regime will be like last weekend, from tonight everything will be closed until the weekend. We will not introduce a curfew, there will be no bans, said the Prime Minister.

“Only grocery stores, drug stores and gas stations will work,” he said.

As he added, it is up to all of us whether those measures will extend into next week.

He claimed that state institutions and the post office will work, while everything possible will be transferred to online work.

“We need to slow down our lives even more to see that the number of newly infected people is stagnating,” Brnabic said.

Brnabic announced that tests for the corona virus will be increased at the borders, as well as that during the day he will speak about helping those most threatened in the economy with these measures.

“The only way out of this is vaccination,” Brnabić said, adding that she was satisfied with the way the procedure was progressing and that there were between 10,000 and 12,000 new vaccination requests every day.

Brnabic said that students in the lower grades of elementary schools will likely move to online classes starting next Monday.

“We cannot close the kindergartens. They will continue to function as long as the measures are respected. If there are educators who have not yet been vaccinated, please let us know,” Brnabić said, adding that vaccination will continue unchanged.

Brnabic announced that he will try to increase vaccination capacities and that meetings will be held with those who are in danger in the economy, but also with catering, musicians, photographers and “all those who gathered on Sunday in front of the House of the National Assembly” . . “

It should be remembered that the Crisis Staff session was postponed, which was supposed to take place in the previous days.

In consultations between Prime Minister Ana Brnabić and the medical side of the crisis staff on Sunday, no decision was made on whether the measures will be toughened.

Epidemiologist Predrag Kon stated that during the consultations of the medical part of the Crisis Staff with the Prime Minister, the profession held the view that epidemiological measures should be strengthened.

He explained that the only measures that can break the chain of transformation of the virus are those measures that were valid during the weekend and that a minimum of 14 days is needed to ensure that the virus activity calms down.

The Secretary of State of the Ministry of Health, Mirsad Đerlek, declared today that the capacities in the kovid system of hospitals in Belgrade have been filled and that the admission of new patients is only possible after discharge.

He said they are thinking of expanding hospital capacities, that is, moving some hospitals to the kovid system.

According to official data, the corona virus has been registered in 520,911 people in Serbia since the beginning of the epidemic and 4,747 deaths have been registered. Another 4,634 new cases were registered and 28 died.

According to the latest data, there are 4,516 hospitalized patients in Serbia. According to the last section, there are 219 people with respirators.
