Kovid’s new hospital in Krusevac, built at the Rasina barracks in that city, will be included in the Serbian health system on Monday, it was announced at the opening ceremony. It will have 150 intensive care units and, as announced, doctors will be able to see a total of 500 patients at any one time. More than nine million euros were invested in the team alone, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said at the inauguration.
First of all, doctors and nurses from the Nis Clinical Center arrived at the newly built Kovid Hospital in Kruševac.
“I have been an anesthetist at KC Nis for a couple of years, I have been in Kovid since March, as have my colleagues here, so we have experience with patients and we work in intensive care,” said anesthetist Katarina Veličković.
He adds that they came to Kruševac a few days ago, and there are also new colleagues who, with moderate and severe cases of kovida-19, should work here for the first six months on a trial basis, and as previously announced, then permanently.
“I was in the office for sixteen years, I was waiting for a job. Now I got a job. The excitement is quite great. I hope to stay after six months of probation. There is fear, but we will fight,” says Jasmina Božinovski from Aleksandrovac.
Although the hospital where they start working is in Krusevac, the competition for their employment was held by the Nis Clinical Center. The head of the new hospital is an anesthesiologist from that center, who is here from now on.
“Almost 650 medical workers and 150-200 non-medical workers have been admitted to Kovid Hospital. In addition to us, the experienced team from Nis will be trained over time and take over other activities related to this hospital,” he explained. the director of the Kovid Hospital. in Kruševac Vladan Cvetanović.
According to the doctor, the epidemic “created” it, so it consists of three blocks, that is, three facilities that are connected by so-called “warm connections”, which practically means that everything is in function of emergency care.

He reminded those gathered that there are currently 66 more respirators available that are not deployed and must be distributed to hospitals.
