A total of 10,114 confirmed cases of COVID 19 were registered in the Republic of Serbia at 3 pm on May 10, 2020. Since the last report, samples from 6,059 people were analyzed, of which 82 are positive, it was published in the Covid19.rs website.
At 3 in the afternoon, a total of 134,592 people who met the criteria to define the case were evaluated in the Republic of Serbia.
1,380 people were hospitalized, while 39 patients are currently on respirators.
3,006 sick patients were cured.
In the last 24 hours, 2 people died. The total number of deaths since the beginning of the epidemic is 215. In the last 24 hours, the percentage of positive people in relation to the number of tests for coronavirus is 1.35 percent.
About forty more patients in “Banjica”
The first health institution to be excluded from the covid system is the “Banjica” Institute of Orthopedic and Surgical Diseases, and that was decided last Monday at the meeting of the Minister of Health, hospital directors and union representatives. The director of the Banjica Institute, Zoran Baščarević, stated that there are 44 more patients in the hospital who are in good condition. “The most difficult patients remained, all the lightest and most negative were dismissed. We no longer accept them, I think we will release the others by the end of the week,” Bascarevic told RTS.
He stated that when all patients are discharged, detailed hospital preparation will begin for return to normal activities. He stated that it is necessary to thoroughly wash and clean the hospital, remove all construction obstacles that separate the red and green areas. “We will test all employees, within 48 hours all employees must have two negative greedy swabs, and then we hope to return to normal activities,” said the director of the Institute “Banjica”. He said he expects the Institute to open by June 1 at the latest.
Vulin: Three members of the Serbian army died of coronavirus, 52 of them infected
Defense Minister Aleksandar Vulin said three members of the Serbian army died from the crown virus: two civilians and a non-commissioned officer, 52 members were infected and 167 of them were isolated. So far, about 300 members have been infected and none of them have severe symptoms. It is not fatal.
Vulin stated that at today’s press conference at the Guard House in Topcider, where he presented the results of the Ministry of Defense and the Serbian Army during the state of emergency. He pointed out that the fight against the coronavirus was not only the fight of the Serbian army or only the Ministry of Defense, “it was and is the fight of the whole society, the country and the system.”
More than 1,500 members of the Serbian army participated daily. Members of the Serbian army, along with members of the Interior Ministry, secured 18 border crossings.
