In the last 24 hours, 21,476 people were tested for the corona virus in Serbia, which is the largest number ever tested in one day, 6,842 of them tested positive, while unfortunately 37 people died.
According to the latest data from the Ministry of Health and the Institute “Trampoline”, there are 225 patients with respirators in health institutions throughout Serbia, which is a new black record.
Today a record was broken for the number of new infections in one day, the last time it was the highest on November 20, when we had 6,254.
What is also very concerning is that up to 729 people were hospitalized in one day! This is how we hit another record for blacks in Serbia: up to 6,478 people are currently in hospital, which is more than ever.
Let us remind you that yesterday we had the highest number of deaths in a day since the beginning of the epidemic: 38, while there were 5,067 positives out of 15,061 people tested. Yesterday there were 216 patients on the ventilator.
By the way, an emergency session of crisis personnel for the fight against the corona virus is scheduled for tomorrow. Before this news was published, Dr. Mijomir Pelemis, infectologist and member of the Crisis Team for the fight against kovid, stated that the situation was being considered “for hours.”
– If there is a further deterioration of the situation, we will toughen the measures, we have no others – said Dr. Pelemis.
As stated today by the Minister of Labor, Employment, Veterans and Social Affairs, but also a member of the crisis staff, Dr. Darija Kisić Tepavčević, in the coming days it is necessary to strictly respect the measure related to avoiding meetings, indoors and outdoors and shortening working hours will help to reduce such meetings and thus slow the spread of the virus.
