In the last 24 hours, 19,301 citizens of Serbia were tested for the corona virus and 6,254 tested positive.
Unfortunately, 30 patients died.
There are 192 patients on ventilators in hospitals across Serbia.
Most of the newly infected are again in Belgrade (2,208), followed by Novi Sad (314), Nis (203), Kragujevac (186), Pancevo (167), Cacak (108), Valjevo (105), Vranje (99 ), Pozarevac), Kraljevo (94), Zrenjanin (91), Smederevo (87), Subotica (85) and Krusevac (70).
Other cities and municipalities have fewer than 70 new infected.
The regular crisis staff conference, which was scheduled for 3pm today, was canceled at the last minute. According to unofficial information, the crisis staff will release a statement in lieu of a lecture.
This morning an emergency session of crisis personnel was held due to the sudden deterioration of the epidemiological situation in Serbia.
The session lasted more than two hours.
Serbian Health Minister Zlatibor Lončar stated after the meeting that today’s session of crisis staff made a representative sample of the current situation and that new measures were proposed to prevent further spread of the coronavirus.
Loncar added that a curfew was not considered.
– The medical part of the crisis staff will explain each proposed measure in writing, and then it will be considered which of them is legally feasible to implement – Lončar said.
