This tool is the most used in units of the Serbian army,

The Technical Review Institute is also responsible for the modernization of this tank, and through this task it is modernizing its capabilities and equipment and assisting the Military Technical Institute in carrying out the project.

Taking into account the potentials of the M-84 tank platform, the modernization is carried out in two phases: in the first phase it modernizes nine subsystems, and in the second phase another 12, the name is practically all the subsystems vitals updated with new technologies.

It is based on the development and integration of components in national capacities, with the import of components that cannot be carried out in our country and their integration in national capacities.

When defining the conceptual design, as indicated, a systematic solution was used with the application of a greater number of assemblies and parts that are in the means adopted in armaments and military equipment or are in the verification and adoption test phase, with fewer refinements in the media and greater compatibility and interchangeability of parts, reasonable price, minimum investment and maximum comfort for maintenance.

The M-84 zero series tanks were built in 1984.

The Defense Ministry recalls that more powerful engines were installed in tanks manufactured between 1988 and 1991, and that the improvements applied in the protection of the armor were taken from the T-72M1 tank.

Considering that nothing has been done since 1991 regarding the modernization of the M-84 tank, this is a great success and a great step forward in equipping the armored units and the Army as a whole, the statement said.
