“Bijeljina celebrates Novak Djokovic” is the name of the event that is taking place this week before the unique effort of the best tennis player in the world, who enters week 311 on March 8 in the leadership position of the ATP.

Srdjan Djokovic, the father of the best tennis player in the world, thanked Bijeljina and Republika Srpska for organizing, even before Serbia, an event that marks and celebrates the great success of Novak.

– I am here as in my country, as at home – said Srdjan Djokovic, appreciating that the reason for the celebration is fantastic, and that the fact that the Serbian people have Novak as he is will be difficult to repeat in history.

He stressed that Novak will have all the parameters on his side from tomorrow, and in the next year and a half, pointing out that the best tennis player in the world is “Serbian gold” and that this is how he should live.

– Novak is the pride of Serbia, the Serbian people and all the peoples of the region and the whole world. It carries the glory of sport, the knowledge of the history of its people and in every way it is the pride and joy of all families, here and in the world, said Srdjan Djokovic.

He recalled that he often has the habit of saying that Novak “lost his family, but the people, the whole region and the whole world caught him.”

At the Pet Jezera settlement in Bijeljina, a bull was roasted on a spit and drinks were served, while the young members of Bijeljina’s “Ace” Tennis Club demonstrated their knowledge of “white sports” on a makeshift tennis court.

The arrival at Pet Jezera was preceded by a meeting between Srdjan Djokovic and His Eminence Bishop Fotije of Zvornik-Tuzla.
