If you loved Paja and Jaret, you will probably like both Zic and Baja. “Truckers” for the 21st Century, according to the script by Gordan Mihić, will arrive in front of the audience on December 28 at 8 pm on the First RTS Program, and Žić, one of the two main roles, will be played by Tihomir Stanić . In Kurir’s conversation, the actor remembers the filming of “Kamiondžija doo” in Uba and a very successful year.
What are your memories of the shoot today?
– The whole series was made by a professional team led by Nelet Garić, “Nira Production” and my friend Glig. Nenad Jezdić and I played the leading roles, and we’ve both known each other since the beginning. Nenad landed her first starring role at Atelier 212 in the play “Man, Beast and Virtue.” My biggest impression is the cordiality and hospitality we had in Uba, from the police, the municipality to the common people. They stopped the traffic because of us, but the joy with which people greeted us and greeted us while standing in kilometer-long columns, because we blocked the road, that gives me hope that the audience will receive and send the whole series and the transmission with such joy.

You filmed with soccer player Nemanja Matić. How did you manage?
– He did very well as an actor. I know the whole family well. My older brother Dragomir played football for FC Vrelo in the seventies and is still remembered there. We also have godparents in the Matić family. It is not a direct line. I met Nemanja on set and spent a few days in her company, but when we got to Ub, a street with her name was already waiting for me. However, we were later told that he did so much for his place that he deserved it.

Your hero librarian becomes a driver, and did you do everything in the nineties, even construction?
– I talked a lot about that, I don’t want to repeat myself. Look how many doctors of science there are who drive taxis or do some other work, it is a consequence of the transition. In the past, people who were manual laborers and had no education went abroad to work as guest workers, and educated people ran large systems here. Now everything has changed, now the educated people have left, and the people who are not in favor, who are not up to the task, have remained in high positions.

Is it a pressure for you to compare the new “truckers” with the old ones?
– No, they compare each role with a different role. I told the students of the Academy of Arts in the first class when I took a class three years ago something I heard from my teacher: “Everything has already been played and everything has been seen, the only thing that has not been seen is you in that role. ” And if someone, a director, a producer, decides for you in that role, then that’s reason enough to play.
How important is television for an actor, for a career?
– You can destroy it. Television and popularity can mislead the actor away from what is his real, essential interest and power. You can do wonderful things on television, but the industry can often mold and captivate an actor. You can give in and not be careful enough, so you enter a cut and a number already made, and you could do much more. That’s why I don’t allow it, although I work a lot on television, I don’t go out of the theater.

You had a performance of your monodrama “On the Drina Bridge” in Belgrade yesterday. Is the next stop a movie about our Nobel Prize winner?
– I no longer even have a wish, that is, what would be said – let the natural flow of the river, so let the energy of nature guide you and take you. It’s natural for me now, now I’m working with Goran Markovic on the script for the movie “Amateur”. We will see if the Film Center supports us. Since I have dealt with the work and life of Ivo Andrić for a long time, it is somehow natural for us to award the Nobel Prize on the occasion of 60 years, which is next year, and 130 years since I was born. Now, we will know in a year, two, three what will come. It’s only natural that Gaga made a movie in Jasenovac as well, as a movie was made about Diana Budisavljevic. Now that I have been concerned with this topic for many years, I am also working on the script for a series on the fate of some of the children Diana saved and on the subsequent understanding of the truth.

Gaga Antonijevic fulfilled my wishes with a new film
He is also the author of the script for the film “Dara iz Jasenovac”.
– Gaga Antonijevic did something that I wanted to do, but couldn’t. It made my wishes come true, and not just mine, of course. If I had met Gaga Antonijevic 12 years ago, when I started thinking about the movie in Jasenovac, I would have called him right away. He was the only one, by various qualities and circumstances, capable of making that movie, and I recognized him two or three years ago, and I was glad to give everything I could. I support him in that within the limits of my powers.
