In a statement to Tanjug, Belgrade Deputy Mayor Goran Vesić said that Stefan Nemanja, the great prefect and ancestor of the Nemanjić dynasty, had died that day in 1199, and that the screening of the film was an opportunity to bring closer young people to the “great dynasty that ruled Serbia for almost 200 years”.

“The construction of a monument to Stefan Nemanja in the center of Belgrade brought Nemanjić back among the Serbs. He added that from tonight until Sunday night, starting at 6 pm, visitors to Sava Square will have the opportunity to enjoy screenings of the film “Nemanjići.”

The city’s secretary of culture, Ivan Karl, told Tanjug that a kind of technically more advanced adjudication of everything that accompanied the unveiling of the Stefan Nemanja monument was held tonight in Sava Square.

“Until a few days ago, we had an exhibition about the Nemanjic dynasty on billboards here. Now we keep up with a 4D projection that reveals details about Nemanjic and Serbia at that time to visitors in 15 minutes,” Karl said. .

He added that tonight’s screening is the beginning of the practice of presenting the history of Serbia in Sava Square.

“The Museum of History of Serbia will be located in the building of the old railway station, and with various projections on the facade of that museum, we will give the citizens of Belgrade and their guests the opportunity to learn the details of our rich history” Karl said.
