Today begins the payment of another minimum wage in the amount of 30,367 dinars for employees in tourism and catering, Tanjug was confirmed in the Ministry of Finance.
It is a support to the sector in the amount of two billion dinars, which will be paid from the budget of the republic for 72,500 employees in travel agencies, car rental companies, catering services and hotels.
Earlier, Finance Minister Siniša Mali said that this additional financial support would mean for employees in this sector, who are in greater danger due to the corona virus pandemic.
He recalled that this is the sixth minimum received by employees of these sectors in Serbia, which means that the state covered half of the business year in these companies through the payment of wages.
The minister has indicated that the Tax Administration published a list of 12,037 companies that exercised the right to state aid. The list includes companies in the catering and tourism sector.
The money will be paid to the companies in special purpose accounts opened by the Treasury Administration for that purpose.
Minister Mali said that the payment procedure has been simplified, thus only requiring the arrival of an authorized person from a commercial entity to the competent branch of the Treasury.
He recalled that previously subsidies were paid to hoteliers amounting to 350 euros per single bed and 150 euros per accommodation unit, for which 1,200 million dinars were reserved.
Mali mentioned that the state’s total allocations since the beginning of the year to support the economy will reach six billion euros, or around 700 billion dinars, and that this is one of the largest support packages in the region. .
