He visited the construction sections of the “Milo Veliki” highway from Preljina to Poega, 30.9 km away, where he received confirmation from the contractor that the section would be completed by the end of 2021.
“This is my first activity as line minister. The policy of the President of the Republic has really achieved many successes in the field of infrastructure, but no successful project is as visible as this road ” Milo Veliki ” “Momirovi said to Tanjug. after a meeting with representatives of the Chinese company CCCC and a tour of the Laz tunnel works, which will be one of the largest tunnels in Serbia, almost three kilometers long.
He says that for decades people used to go the old road, risking their lives, because there was no road and that he passed by there almost every day and was willing to bet that the road would never go there.
“If someone had told me about ten years ago that this road would exist and that we would stay here, I would have said it was impossible, I would have bet it would not happen. President Vui got involved and today we are in the final stages of this stretch.” said the Minister of Construction.
He expressed his satisfaction with the dynamics of the works on the Preljina – Poega section, where the works on the Laz and Munjino Brdo tunnels are currently being carried out, and works on the route and bridges have begun.
He points out that the contractor showed seriousness and quality, for which he thanked the Chinese company, as well as the investor Putevi Srbije.
Momirovi spoke with representatives of CCCC about current project issues, such as land expropriation, the issuance of construction permits, but also travel measures against the spread of kovid 19.
He confirmed that the entire stretch from Preljina to Poega should be completed by the end of 2021 and noted that it will be especially important that the stretch from Preljina to Pakovra is operational, significantly relieving traffic in Aak, as all those going to Crna Gori and BiH will no longer have to go through the city.
“I am convinced that what was agreed today and the promise made to President Vui will be respected,” said the minister.
He also called on contractors, as well as everyone else, to respect measures against the spread of the coronavirus, noting that the virus threatens not only our lives, but also the economy and threatens to roll back and undo everything achieved so far. .
“We must not allow that,” Minister Momirovi said.
By the way, on February 21 of this year the excavation of the Laz Tunnel began, and so far 286 meters have been made in the left pipe and 341 meters in the right.
The excavation of the Munjino brdo tunnel, which will also be one of the largest tunnels, began on May 25 this year, and so far 141 meters have been completed on the left pipe and 48 meters on the right.
Between 200 and 300 workers are involved in work in these two tunnels every day.
In addition, the first works are already being carried out on the route and bridges, as well as on the Trbuani tunnel.
President Vui previously announced that after the completion of the road section from Preljina to Poega, citizens of Uica to Belgrade will travel for approximately one hour and 45 minutes.
The Laz tunnel through Jelica mountain will be the longest tunnel on that route and one of the longest in Serbia at almost three kilometers.
In addition, near Luano the 2,800-meter long Munjino tunnel is being built.
The Preljina – Poega section is 30.9 kilometers long on the Corridor 11 route, towards the border with Montenegro.
Almost a third of the 30.93 kilometer route of the future highway from Preljina to Poega is made up of bridges and tunnels.
The contractor for this section, which is a continuation of the June Belgrade-Adriatic highway construction project with a total length of 258 kilometers, is the Chinese company China Communications Construction Company.
In addition to these two large tunnels, the Trbuani tunnel of about 300 meters in length, 35 bridges with a total length of 5,196 meters, four overpasses with a total length of 592 meters, then almost two million cubic meters of embankment, will be built the construction of a complete traffic circuit Pakovraa. around aka, while there will be three traffic loops along the entire route.
The execution period of the works is 36 months and the value of the works is 450 million euros.
The Preljina – Poega highway is divided into three smaller sections.
From Preljina to Prijevor by the Emernica river and a small part by the West Morava, in a length of up to 8.27 kilometers.
Then, from Prijevor to Luan, 15.51 kilometers must be covered and 20 bridges must be built, which will be more than three kilometers long.
The third sub-section, from Luan to Poege, has an extension of seven kilometers and in it three bridges must be built, a tunnel 2,040 meters long, a loop in Luan and a bridge over the Bjelica river.
The road from Preljina to Poega is of great importance to connect Serbia and the region, because it is a continuation of Corridor 11 towards the border with Montenegro, but it is also part of the future Belgrade – Sarajevo highway, as Poega remains to be built some 60 kilometers from the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina. .
The Preljina – Poega section will connect aak, Luane and Poega and two districts – Moraviki and Zlatiborski and is important not only for the rapid development of that part of Serbia, but also for the regional connection.
Corridor 11 and corridor 10 will be connected by the Moravian corridor.
The construction of the section of Corridor 11 from Poega to Boljar on the border with Montenegro, in the length of 107 kilometers, is also planned.
