When the boy went to school, they were waiting for the results of the crown test for the whole family.
The Ministry of Education reported the case to the social work center, and the school may file a criminal complaint for endangering the health of other children.
In schools in Serbia, as far as is known, this is the only case of corona infection. The information that appeared in some media that a sixth-grade student from the primary school “Natalija Nana Nedeljković” in Kragujevac also became ill turned out to be incorrect. That is, she is isolated because her parents are positive for the corona virus.
Both children are to blame for their parents coming to school, because in both cases they were waiting for the results of the corona virus test and, although they did not arrive, they sent the children to school. In both cases, the parents were positive.
The educational authorities and epidemiologists have again appealed to parents not to send their children to school in these cases, as well as to be vigilant to see if the child has any of the symptoms of the infection and to leave it in home in that case.
Explaining the case at the Kragujevac school, epidemiologist Dr. Predrag Delic, from the Kragujevac Institute of Public Health, confirmed that the girl was not examined, but was isolated.
– It was wrongly transmitted that the girl is positive and that her father and mother are positive. The omission was made for the girl to be sent to school while her parents awaited the results. The child cannot be examined because there are no symptoms, explained Dr. Delic.
The Ministry of Education also announced that according to the information received by the Kragujevac School Administration, it was not confirmed that this student was infected, nor did she present any symptoms.
PEDIATRICS ASSOCIATION: SAFER AT SCHOOL THAN AT HOME
The ASSOCIATION of Pediatricians of Serbia assessed that the decision to send students to school is correct and that the benefits of attending classes far outweigh the risks of the epidemic at this time, especially if it is possible to fully implement the staff prevention measures crisis. The European Academy of Pediatrics and the International Association of Pediatricians have the same position.
– Based on all available data, more than 90 percent of infections in children under the age of 14 occurred at home and about 10 percent during travel or in some other way. Staying in school, if the measures taken in Serbia are consistently implemented, should ensure a small impact on general epidemiological events in this otherwise sensitive population, says Professor Dr. Georgios Konstantinidis, President of the Association.
Pediatricians consider that the risk of transmission of infection among children, especially adolescents, is much higher during “extracurricular” activities, as well as on holidays or during shared meals, and warns that strict compliance with measures. (BR)
– We appeal once again to the parents of all students to adhere to the recommendations and that if there is a suspicion that the corona virus is present in their families, inform the school immediately and do not attend classes – states in the ad.
The principal of the “Natalija Nana Nedeljković” primary school, Dragana Mijović, claimed that it was a misunderstanding that arose from information that the student’s parents tested positive for the virus.
At the same time, epidemiologist Predrag Kon said that the virus would surely enter schools and claimed that both the teacher and the entire class at the Belgrade school where a child was infected had switched to online classes, which would have no consequences. for other students in the class. the children wore masks and respected other protective measures.
– This has shown that the system works, and this situation can be expected in any department – Kon said, adding that he is more concerned about high school students who do not wear masks, and that he discussed this with Minister Šarčević.
INADMISSIBLE AND NOT HALANT
ASSISTANT The Minister of Health for the sanitary inspection sector, Goran Stamenković, evaluated the behavior of the parents who sent their child to school before receiving the results of the corona virus test as inadmissible and indifferent. Regarding the measures to be taken against parents, Stamenković said the Ministry of Education did what was necessary and, as assessed, “the criminal responsibility of parents will probably also go there.”
