The Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development, Mladen Šarčević, said today that the parents of the students can rest assured because for now “the objective variant is” that the children spend as much time as possible in the schools, noting that the they are streamed online along with the classes and are recorded for a period of one month in advance.

According to him, the recorded school program can be re-watched, “and with a little parental involvement, it dramatically reduces the need for private lessons.”

Šarčević told TV Pink that society in Serbia needs to be more disciplined and stated that it is necessary to react as soon as the number of infected people jumps a bit so that things return to normal.

He said that Serbia has very good results and stated that he does not know what “is not clear to a citizen who behaves undisciplined” in the fact that it depends on whether he is healthy, if his family is healthy, if his son is in school and if you can work.

Sarcevic said he was “not thinking” about whether he would continue to be education minister in the new government, and pointed out that all those in charge of that department expect a lot of work in the continuation of educational reforms.

He assessed that his role in the previous four years was “to raise a lot of problems” and for Serbia to initiate reforms in education, which he says are “visible”.

Šarčević recalled that the Education Strategy should be completed by 2027 and that two new systemic laws should be passed: the Law on Higher Education and the Law on the Education System.
