Today, Defense Minister Aleksandar Vulin and the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Milosav Simović, visited the members of Battalion 246 ABHO at the “Car Lazar” barracks in Kruševac and attended the mobile decontamination platform, a new device that is being examined in that battalion.

On that occasion, Minister Vulin said that ABHO units are being equipped and prepared to be ready to help civil authorities where and when necessary.

– During the intense fight with Kovid-19, the ABHO units gave their immeasurable contribution, helping where necessary. So, by drawing lessons and experiences from the time that is left behind, we are preparing for a future that does not always have to be good. That is why we have prepared new vehicles and new resources. So based on our experiences during the fight with Kovid-19, we saw what we lacked and what we needed – said Minister Vulin.

The humanity, organization and technique of the ABHO component in the army must be expanded, emphasizes the Minister of Defense and emphasizes that the current pause regarding the infection by the Kovida-19 virus should not make us relax, but we must be prepared for everything that come on. Furthermore, Minister Vulin said that the Serbian army will be manned, materially and technically ready for whatever challenges it may have in front of it.

The mobile decontamination platform is a tool developed by the Military Technical Institute, and since September 24, the zero series of this tool has been under review at ABHO Battalion 246.

The commander of the platoon to secure nuclear and chemical accidents in the 246 ABHO battalion, Lt. Rajko Gujanicic, points out that the mobile decontamination platform has numerous advantages and can replace five technical means in the army: a decontamination tank car, a tank car of water, an assault vehicle. fire suppression, a Rosen-Bauer pump for pumping water, as well as a Sani-Jet decontamination device.

– Today we had the opportunity to present a decontamination platform, intended for the radiological, biological and chemical decontamination of people, weapons and technical means. Additionally, the vehicle can be used to pump water out of flooded areas, clear the battlefield, and put out fires. With the integration and development of this medium, five devices in the army have been replaced by one medium – said Lieutenant Gujanicic, adding that with the help of a mobile platform, it is possible to decontaminate aircraft, artillery weapons and vehicles of more three meters.

Lieutenant Gujaničić emphasizes that the modernization of the ABHO service means a lot to everyone, as well as that the new tool represents an additional impetus for all members of that service to continue to do their work in a reliable and dedicated way, aware of the fact that it is invested in them.

After today’s visit, the commander of the ABHO Center, Colonel Sibin Dincic, presented Minister Vulin with the plaque of that center.
