Zlatibor Lonar and Patriarch Irinej spoke today at the Patriarchate, and the meeting was also attended by the director of the Infectious and Tropical Diseases Clinic, Goran Stevanovi.

According to the Ministry of Health, Lonar informed the patriarch about the current epidemiological situation in the country, as well as about the preparation of the health system for the new coronavirus peak.

The minister noted that health workers will do everything possible to preserve the health of citizens this time as well, but that it is necessary to respect the measures to keep the epidemic under control.

Patriarch Irinej said that the Serbian Orthodox Church and the Ministry of Health have the same goal: the health and well-being of citizens, for which he called for solidarity and unity.

Baptismal celebrations are events that symbolize our spirituality, go beyond tradition, reunite and preserve families, and today, in times of epidemic, they have a special meaning, because the way they are celebrated and celebrated has a direct impact on the preservation of public health. .

Consequently, Patriarch Irinej and the Minister of Health asked citizens to adhere to anti-epidemiological measures in every situation and to celebrate the baptism in a way that does not endanger the health and life of their loved ones.
