Regarding Serbia’s decision to withdraw their original reciprocal decision to expel the Montenegrin ambassador, Jovanovi said that it was not good for decisions to change day by day and that this was not a characteristic of a serious state or serious diplomacy.

“You cannot go out one night and say that Tarzan Miloevi is a persona non grata and that you will withdraw your decision after 24 hours,” said the DSS leader.

However, he added that between the first and second decisions of the Serbian authorities on the expulsion of the Montenegrin ambassador, he was close to the other for which he still remains in Serbia, because things should not be dramatized.

He assessed that the Serbian ambassador, Vladimir Boovi, had the right to give his interpretation of a historical event such as the Podgorica Assembly of 1918.

When asked by the journalist, Jovanovi said that he did not deny Montenegrin statehood, but that Serbia had the right to express its position on the Montenegro issue because the history of the two countries had been connected for a long time.

“Our history was very connected, close, the same surnames, the same religion. For many years, Serbia and Montenegro were together,” concluded the DSS president.
