A suspected businessman from the north of Kosovo and vice-president of the Serbian List, Milan Radoicic, when linked by the Kosovo authorities to the murder of Oliver Ivanovic, appeared today at the trial of Rada Trajkovic, whom he sued for damaging parts and reputation. He said he was not included in the murder charge, as Trajković claimed, and to reporters in front of the courtroom that his motive was exclusively political. “That led to the fact that she won 270 votes in the elections and I, as vice president of the Serbian List, 52,000.”

Although he was identified in Kosovo as the leader of the criminal group that participated in the murder of Oliver Ivanovic, Radoicic is a free man in Serbia, and today he appeared at the Palace of Justice accompanied by his lawyer Goran Petronijevic to defend the injured party and the reputation in court. In August last year, she sued Rada Trajković and demanded five million dinar compensation because she publicly said that she suspected him of being involved in Ivanović’s murder and that he was the leader of the mafia in northern Kosovo.

Trial without a journalist
Journalists were not allowed to attend the hearing, although they duly announced it, as requested by Judge Aleksandra Leković in the last trial, so that she could schedule a larger courtroom. However, the trial was held in a small courtroom and Judge Lekovic did not explain why the public was again prevented from attending the trial. The KRIK journalists had an idea of the trial records.

He said that Trajković took every opportunity to speak publicly about him as a criminal, drug dealer and participant in the killing of Ivanović, which harms him.

“People started looking at me differently, they started reacting when I appeared in a public place or when I entered a restaurant to pressure me and point their eyes at me,” Radoičić said.

Radoicic indicated that he was not covered by any accusation, as well as that there is no international arrest warrant against him, because he traveled abroad and had no problem. According to him, he heard that there was an “internal arrest warrant”, but did not receive any official announcement about it.

He claimed that in November 2018, a large number of members of the Kosovo police broke into his home in Kosovska Mitrovica in the early hours of the morning, that he was not home and that he believed the intrusion was partly due to the statements of Trajković.

“For all this, I asked to go to the polygraph regarding these accusations in which I participated, incited and somehow had something to do with the murder of Oliver Ivanović, and I passed that polygraph.”

Rada Trajković told the court what he had previously stated in public: that his knowledge came from Ivanović himself, whom he saw in Gračanica before he was killed.

“We spoke and he said that he was under great pressure and that Milan Radoicic and the people he gathers put him in danger personally. Oliver addressed the politicians in Belgrade, and he was also at the BIA where he reported it. assassinated, I gave the first statement, fearing that it would be covered up and that the true organizer of the assassination would not be revealed, “he said.

He stressed that he passed all his knowledge to the investigative bodies and that he believes that Radoicic should prove his innocence to the Kosovo judicial authorities, by being available and participating in that procedure, and not by taking a polygraph in Belgrade.

“I learned from the people of Kosovo, who talk about it and who live in constant fear of it, that he is the leader of the Serbian mafia, the man who decides life or death, to ensure the victory of the Serbian list , it’s intimidating, “he said. The policy added that it knew the content of the BIA report linking Radoicic to criminal matters.

Radoicic asked Trajkovic if he was aware of that when KRIK released the BIA report she mentioned, but he declined to answer her questions, emphasizing that it was humiliating for her.

Trajkovic and his lawyer Vladimir Gajic asked the court to collect official BIA documentation on Radoicic. The next test is scheduled for March 2021.

After the trial, Radoicic told reporters that Trajkovic’s motivation for speaking of him as responsible for Ivanovic’s murder was exclusively political, although at the time he made statements about him, Radoicic had no role in the party.

“Rade Trajković’s motivation is the search for media space, the abuse of a tragedy that befell our people, which resulted in his appearance in the elections where he obtained 270 votes, and I, as vice president of the Serbian List, received 52,000 “Radoičić said and declined to answer that he will respond to the Kosovo authorities.

Rada Trajković noted that she was surprised by Radoičić’s arrival in court, as the retrial for the murder of Ivanović in Priština began today.

“His presence there was more important because he can legitimately and institutionally demonstrate that he was not involved or participated in the organization of Ivanovic’s murder.” And it is not that here he is obviously empowered by the support that comes to him from those who released him with a polygraph, making innuendo and fabrications, said the politician.

Suspicious past

Radoicic is a powerful businessman from the north of Kosovo, he owns dozens of companies that deal with the construction of infrastructure. Ten years ago, he and his godfather Zvonko Veselinović were investigated by the Serbian intelligence agency, which suspected them of smuggling drugs, arms and oil, money laundering and greening, but were never charged with these actions. They were prosecuted for abuses in the economy and all were acquitted.

Before the assassination, Oliver Ivanović also spoke about Radoičić, who marked him as an informal center of power in the northern part of Kosovska Mitrovica.

Suspicions that Radoicic was involved in Ivanovic’s murder were also confirmed by the Kosovo prosecutor’s office, which opened an investigation against him. His name does not appear in the indictment as he fled Kosovo in the meantime and there can be no trial in absentia.

However, in describing the events, the Kosovo prosecution claims that Radoicic, along with Veselinovic, was the leader of the group that killed Ivanovic, whose objective was to establish control over affairs and politics in northern Mitrovica.
