Chrysostom (secularly Rajko Jević) is the metropolitan of Dabro-Bosnia. He was previously bishop of Bihać-Petrovac and Zvornik-Tuzla. He was born on March 4, 1952 in the village of Vodenica, near Bosanski Petrovac. His baptized name was Rajko.
He finished seminary at Krka monastery, where he became a monk on September 20, 1971, taking the name Chrysostom. A week later, he was ordained to the rank of jerodiacon and two years later to the rank of hieroglyphic monk. He worked as secretary to the Dalmatian Bishop Stefan (Boca) and the church court.
He studied theology at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki from 1976 to 1980, when he graduated from the Belgrade Faculty of Theology. In the period from 1981 to 1991, he worked as a teacher and educator in the Seminary of the Holy Three Hierarchs in the Krka Monastery.
In 1991, he was elected the first bishop of the newly established Diocese of Bihać-Petrovac. On September 13, 1995 he was expelled from his residence in Ključ and on October 10 of the same year he left the territory of his diocese.
He returned to his diocese on February 5, 1996, after the implementation of the Dayton Peace Agreement. He temporarily stayed at the Klisina monastery in Shipovo, until the fall of 2002, when he returned to the diocese headquarters in Bosanski Petrovac. He was enthroned on the throne of the Bishop of Zvornik-Tuzla on July 13, 2013.
The Assembly of the Serbian Orthodox Church made the decision on May 24, 2017 that Bishop Chrysostom of Zvornik and Tuzla should be a metropolitan of Dabro-Bosnia. He was enthroned in Sarajevo on September 3, 2017.
The enthronement ceremony was preceded by the liturgy of the Holy Hierarch, which was served by the late Serbian patriarch Irinej. Chrysostom is the 61st Metropolitan of the Dabro-Bosnia Metropolitan since its foundation. Metropolitan Chrysostom speaks Greek and speaks Russian and French.
