BELGRADE – In Belgrade, the observance of the prescribed measures against the coronavirus on New Year’s Eve is controlled by 20 teams of the Communal Militia, who intensively visit the catering facilities from 6 pm, and until 9 pm they recorded Just one rape, in a cafe in Senjak.

This was stated by Ivan Divac, Acting Secretary for Community Militia Affairs, whose patrol with the Tanjug team visited bars in the city center during the night.

Divac said that the patrols controlled the observance of the measures throughout the day, and that from 6 in the afternoon they carried out the control intensively because, remember, according to the latest measures, the restoration facilities can work until 6 in the afternoon of today and tomorrow.

He noted that most of the bars were closed at that time, but that at 6.30 p.m. they found several people in certain facilities, which, he added, closed with a warning.

He said that one of the most drastic examples was around 8.15pm in Senjak, where a cafe was operating with a dozen diners, adding that the bar was closed after the intervention of the Communal Militia.

“A big thank you to the catering companies, but also to the public for greatly respecting all the measures of the Crisis Staff, 99 percent, and for getting through this day without any problem. I hope it will be the same for the rest of the night “Divac said.

He specified that there are 20 patrols of the Communal Militia on the ground and recalled that the observance of the prescribed measures is controlled by the inspectors of the city’s Inspection Secretariat, as well as the health inspectors of the republic.

According to Divac, they visited key places: Beton Hall, Trg Republike, Knez Mihailova Street, Strahinjica Bana Street, Njegoseva, Usce, New Belgrade …

“We are visiting, but we are also acting on reports from citizens. For now, there are not many reports of this type, and especially there are no reports for violation of house rules and parties in the apartments,” said Divac.

Tonight, the mayor of Belgrade, Zoran Radojicic, was personally convinced of the situation in the center of the capital and expressed his satisfaction that there were no violations in that part of the city, as far as restoration facilities are concerned.

“We are satisfied with the situation in the city center and we hope that it will continue to be so in the next few hours,” Radojicic said.

He called on citizens to continue to comply with the measures on New Year’s Eve, do not gather in large numbers and do not risk infecting and infecting their loved ones.

“I ask citizens to be patient, it will be the New Year when we celebrate in that old environment,” said Radojicic.
