MPs from the Serbian Progressive Party, Aleksandar Martinović and Sandra Božić, started a hunger strike in front of the Serbian Assembly, because, as Martinović said, “the prosecution and the judiciary do not react to the fascist outbursts of Boško Obradović”.
“The prosecution must react when you throw Deputy Marjan Risticevic to the ground and inflict injuries on him, and then you say that he has a knife in his hands and you know he did not have a knife but keys,” Martinovic told the Assembly.
He says they are not in power in the courts and prosecutor’s offices and that “most of the prosecutors and judges were chosen by people like Djilas.”
“The prosecution and the judiciary are not controlled by Vučić and the SNS, but by Djilas. In Serbia, people are being prosecuted for much lesser crimes, and in front of the entrance of the Assembly they are beating a parliamentarian with 20 other people and nothing. No one can do that to anyone, the prosecution will have to do its job and do justice, “added the SNS MP.
When asked why they did not start a hunger strike as soon as it happened, Martinović said they wanted to give the prosecution time to react.
“Two days have passed, there was no reaction. We will stay until they start doing their job. I cannot have a rule for Djilas and Obradovic and another for people of guilt and meat,” said Aleksandar Martinovic.
We remember you Independent MP Miladin Sevarlic started a hunger strike unable to initiate a parliamentary debate on violations of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia and non-compliance with Resolution 1244 of the UN Security Council, and in that he was joined by the leader of Dveri and the deputy Boško Obradović.
