Novljanin Zoran Marić (47) is suspected of killing Ljiljana Simić (54) and then sold her car and spent the money from her visa card.
Suspecting that he was an accessory to this crime, the police yesterday arrested the citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina Radomir Delic, who lives in Herceg Novi.
Maric is a multiple returnee in the commission of criminal acts, and was arrested two months ago.
The lifeless body of Ljiljana Simić was found two nights ago in the village of Mokrine in Herceg Novi. Her family reported her missing to the police on September 6, after she failed to board the plane that was supposed to fly to Canada.
The police administration was not officially announced, but they unofficially said that with a “high degree of probability” I can say that a lifeless body was found in Mokrine, a missing person in Kotor. She was last seen on September 5 in Kotor.
Her ex-husband, Vladimir Krstanovic, told “Vijesti” that the Kotor police informed them on Friday that they were “following in the footsteps of the suspects in the Ljiljana kidnapping” but also told them to “prepare for the worst” .
He also said that inspectors came to the killer after they were provided with a list of the use of his ex-wife’s card.
“My ex-wife came to Montenegro now just to sell an apartment in Kotor. She told me that she would sell it for 210,000 euros and that her agents had already found a smaller one, which she would buy for 100,000 euros … I don’t know if she did that, but said she was coming and didn’t come here. Then her neighbors told us they last saw her leaving the apartment with her suitcases on September 5 … I informed the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (Royal Canadian Cavalry Police) already the Canadian Embassy in Belgrade about the disappearance, and the neighbor Ljiljana was close with left. He’s in the Kotor police and connects us with them. “
He explains that the police first questioned Ljiljana’s ex-partner from Podgorica, who helped them:
“He told them that he gave him a SIM card when he landed in Podgorica, and then they followed that number down to the number for Zoran Marić, with whom he had many conversations. He was also filmed entering his apartment three nights after he disappeared, but also how he arrived to a gas station with his ‘Nissan’ and tried to pay with his card. The inspector, who has been supporting us all these days, told us that the video shows that a woman is in the passenger seat, but that they have not determined if it is Ljiljana “.
He also said that the inspector in charge of the case informed them and that they learned that Marić was trying to sell the car and that they wanted to catch him.
“They had an agreed buyer, but Maric didn’t show up. On the same day, his vehicle was stopped in Niksic. The man driving the jeep was asked where his car came from. He told them that he had bought it from Zoran and that it was a woman whose car had gone to Canada and who would never go back to Montenegro. That was terribly suspicious to me and it turned out that I had a justified fear … “
