– Dejan’s son’s phone kept ringing and he kept saying he didn’t know anything. He knew his father was flying on that plane. To add to the irony, Dejan was not supposed to work that day, it was his day off. They called him from the service and told him that he should fly with Vasiljevic, so he went to change colleagues. He left happy, and instead people from the Ministry of Defense came to inform the family about the accident. They told the family that they did not know the cause of the accident and that they would later inform them of the cause. Terrible accident! Dejan was a wonderful man and he loved his job very much. He was also preparing to retire soon. He went out to meet everyone, and it’s up to us to give him back to his son and wife, a neighbor told us.

As we have learned unofficially, Dejan’s son followed in his father’s footsteps and enrolled in the Vršac pilot academy. Dejan needed to finish something else about the service and also planned to continue working as an instructor in Vršac.

Zvonko Vasiljevic’s family is cloaked in black. She was preparing for her own brother’s engagement, the slain officer’s neighbors say. Her brother came from Russia, where she lives and works, to fulfill her engagement. However, sadly, instead of an engagement, the funeral of his own brother awaits him.

The investigation of this accident is being carried out by two commissions whose task is to determine why the plane crashed and took the lives of two great professionals, that is, if it was a fault or human error.

Petar Vojinović, editor of the portal “tango six”, told the media that the “Mig 21”, a type of plane in which two pilots died, rarely forgives mistakes, and that in that case anything could have happened, for failures in organization and planning. years until the failure of the technique.

– Some of the comments from older pilots indicate that every fourth or fifth pilot flying this plane was killed, it is designed to be an interceptor. If we look at it as an airplane, it is a large rocket, an airplane with a very powerful engine, which is designed to take off quickly, sometimes to intercept Cold War bombers. Its cabin is analogous and very complicated and for the people who fly it we can say that they are the elite of aviation. He rarely forgives mistakes – declared Vojinović.

– There could be failures in the organization and planning of the flight, there could be failures in the equipment, even though it took off technically correct, something could go wrong during the flight … The last loss of an aircraft of this type in a comparable way was in 1996. a bird flew into the engine.
