Mainly in Novi Sad, the epidemiological situation is unfavorable

Compared with last week, in Vojvodina there was a significant increase in the number of registered cases positive for the corona virus, and most of them are in Novi Sad, 162, according to the Vojvodina Institute of Public Health.

According to the Institute, the epidemiological situation in the province is unfavorable with a tendency to worsen.

The daily number of cases registered in AP Vojvodina has been growing continuously since October 20, the Institute announced, reports RTV Vojvodina, and there are currently 1,700 active cases.

The highest number of active cases is in Novi Sad, 975, which is three times more than in the previous week, and active cases are present in 44 of the 45 municipalities of the province.

“At this time in Novi Sad, Zrenjanin and Sremska Mitrovica, the epidemiological situation is extremely unfavorable with a tendency to worsen, while in other cities and municipalities it is evaluated as uncertain with a tendency to worsen,” the Institute warned.

The active workforce predominates among patients, and no changes have been determined in the number and form of infection in children in relation to September, that is, the transmission of the disease among children in school conditions.

The Institute makes a call to continue with the necessary implementation of the announced measures to control the transmission of the disease.

“Among those infected, the healthiest are the population and young people, those who were infected at work or sitting in cafes,” said the epidemiologist at the Vojvodina Public Health Institute, Mioljub Ristic.
