That Vranje is a new crown hotspot in Serbia was confirmed today by prof. Dr. Branislav Tiodorović, a member of the crisis staff, who warned that if this number continues to grow, this city, but also others if they have a similar situation, is threatened with the closure of all restaurants and cafes.
Vranje has had a steady growth in the number of newly infected for weeks, and for days it has been second only to Belgrade, which has a population of one million. Just yesterday, 127 newly infected people were registered in Vranje, an extremely high number considering the size of this city. As we wrote, it is the same as if Belgrade had more than 2000 infected in one day! By the way, yesterday we had so much for all of Serbia.
What caused this extremely alarming situation in this town of only 84,000 inhabitants in southern Serbia, the authorities of that city agree, is – the relaxation of citizens and the cessation of compliance with the measures and regulations to prevent the spread of the virus.
They also agreed that the current birthday celebrations, at home and without any supervision over the enforcement of precautionary measures, have certainly contributed to the spread of kovida among high school students, and from them to other family members, we wrote Yesterday.
Shopping and the British strain
However, these are not the only reasons why the crown broke out here again, there are two other very probable ones: one is the arrival of the citizens of North Macedonia to buy and spend time in this part of Serbia, but also the consequence of a new British strain of the virus. Dr. Branislav Tiodorović spoke about the first and Dr. Predrag Kon spoke about the second.
Dr. Tiodorović, as a guest yesterday in the Belgrade Chronicle, expressed another very possible reason for the alarm, and that is that the citizens of North Macedonia flock to the shops of that city.
As he himself says, he himself had the opportunity to ensure that there are large crowds in a world-famous commercial market, which does not exist in Macedonia, and he noticed, he says, a large number of guests from that country who come to catering facilities. in Vranje.
Dr. Tiodorović sees this as a positive step for merchants and catering companies, but warns that the measures must be respected and are the same for everyone, so foreigners are not exempt in any case.
Macedonians are known to have been the most loyal visitors to the city of Vranje for years, and that was first because of the cheap food and fuel, and today, as they claim, because of the restaurant and friendly atmosphere in Vranje, so It is not surprising that Macedonian is the second official language of Vranje.
