Rescue teams from the Nis Station Mountain Rescue Service successfully completed the rescue operation of an elderly man whose disappearance was reported, and when they removed him from the Toponička River, which is located at the foot of Suva planina.
“The man was successfully evacuated, and will soon be handed over to the ambulance team. Seven rescuers participated in the rescue operation,” says the GSS.
The circumstances in which the man reached the river are still unknown at this time. As “Blic” wrote, rescuers from the Nis Station Mountain Rescue Service tonight began the action of rescuing an old man who was lost at the foot of Suva Planina. The GSS received a call for help from a relative of the missing man, who last called the family around 7 p.m.
This is the Mountain Service’s second successful rescue operation in Suva Planina in just seven days.
Almost a week ago, on the same mountain, GSS rescuers helped an injured woman. He went on a field trip with two other recreationists when he injured his ankle.
