Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said today that Serbia’s priority in the coming year, despite complex international and regional circumstances, is to fully preserve peace and stability and vital national and state interests.

– The second objective is to take care of the health of citizens, how to win the crown, but also to improve our health. The third goal is to further improve the standard of living of citizens, both through wages and income, as well as through investments in cleaner air, better railways, the construction of a secondary network of gas pipelines, but also an army and stronger police and anything else that will further strengthen the state, Vucic said on New Year’s Eve. With regard to foreign policy, he said that Serbia’s goal is to preserve old friendships, such as with Russia and China, because they are friends who “never turned their backs on us.” At the same time, he stressed that it is necessary to build relations with the United States and continue the path towards the EU.

– We will continue the cautious policy, the stability policy, which will allow Serbia to be among the top three countries in Europe in terms of growth rate in the next two years. We have the strength for that – said Vučić.

He has a New Year’s conference scheduled for today, at which, as he announced, he will discuss next year’s results, and present plans for 2021.
