BELGRADE – The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, attended the closing ceremony of the “Week of the Child 2020”, where he presented plaques to the little ones.

At the close of Children’s Week, the president told children that in addition to play, they must be diligent, responsible and love their country, noting that by reading his works, he became convinced of the exceptional love he has for Serbia.

“I read the works of Dunja, Nevena, Patricia and Gabriela. I thought that the new generations are those who understand the virtual world and are mistakenly convinced that they learn less, that they are less literate than previous generations. The works that I read are extraordinary, they were written by children of exceptional talent. They showed exceptionality, fighting spirit, love for Serbia, “said the president in his speech at the ceremony.

He says that while visiting the stands with the girls and boys he spoke to, he saw that they all lust for themselves and see how they can protect and change Serbia for the better.

“It is important that children, even these little ones, understand responsibilities. Life is not always just beautiful, you must be ready and responsible to think about how to contribute to society and how to contribute to a better future for you and your country with love for family and Serbia, “said Vucic. and concluded that this was the most beautiful ending of this week for him.

Vučić also emphasized that he was happy that the jury heard the works that came from the children on the other side of the Drina, and one was awarded because the love that those children have for Serbia is incredible.

– My father was born across the Drina and my mother Bačvanka, a former native of Vojvodina, and he always told us that we cannot understand how incredible is the love for Serbia for those who were not born in it – added the president.

The lockdown began at 10 a.m. at the Palace of Serbia, the president’s press service announced.

The traditional demonstration “Children’s Week” was held this week throughout Serbia under the slogan “Shared happiness is double.” Children’s Week celebrates the right of children to enjoy childhood and youth, and is also an opportunity for children to showcase their talents, skills and abilities.

Let us remind you, the “Children’s Week” demonstration ended today with a ceremony at the Palace of Serbia. After visiting the booths where the 50 best works of children’s art on the theme “Why I love Serbia” were presented, the president divided the plaques into three categories and a special award.

The awarded categories are from first to fourth grade, from fifth to eighth and the best artistic work of the diaspora. During the last seven days, activities for children were organized in cities across Serbia as part of the event that was held this year under the motto “Shared happiness is twice as big”.

Each day was dedicated to a theme, so Tuesday was dedicated to sports, Wednesday to introducing children to the environment, Thursday to education and on Friday the importance of inclusion was presented to the youngest, solidarity and tolerance, while yesterday the winners of the literary contest were announced.

This year’s Children’s Week was organized taking care of health and safety in accordance with respect for all epidemiological measures in the fight against the spread of the corona virus.

This event celebrates the right of children to enjoy childhood and youth, and is also an opportunity for the little ones to show off their skills, abilities and talents.

The basis of its elaboration is the 1989 United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, and the programmatic objectives of the project are adjusted to the needs and problems of children from year to year.

The organizational sponsor of the “Children’s Week” is the humanitarian organization “Corazón del Niño”, with the support of the Ministry of Labor, Employment, Veterans and Social Affairs, and today’s closing ceremony was attended by the Minister of Labor Zoran Djordjevic, who opened the event on October 5.
