The corona virus has become so widespread that now virtually everyone knows someone who is currently infected or has already been infected with kovid-19.

Workers, work

The risk of potential infection is at every step, but some jobs are, by nature, more exposed to danger. These are, according to estimates, factories, shops and service activities, as well as hospitals and nursing homes.

In fact, as experts explain, the highest level of potential contagion occurs in places where workers direct each other in work processes, in groups where the number of employees who can be in the same place cannot be reduced when same time, as well as in service activities where there is a large circulation.

– Now there is no place where the crown has not entered. The virus is in both state administration and social protection, but it is certain that it will first enter places where it is not possible to work from home. So are factories, shops and services in general – says the president of the Association of Free and Independent Trade Unions of Serbia (ASNS), Ranka Savić.

Luck

As our interlocutor explains, in many factory halls it is impossible to make the necessary distance, at least not as much as recommended, because the work machines cannot move in that way.

– Now they are trying to solve this by redistributing working hours, that is, simply inserting the third shift whenever possible and easing, as far as possible, the production process, so that it lasts at all – Savić estimates.

The biggest infections are in these places, because the workers are simply “tied together” in the production process.

Restaurants, cafes, shops

Since the beginning of the pandemic, epidemiologists have pointed out that the greatest hotbed of transmission of the virus is where there is a large group of young people, that is, in cafes, bars and clubs.

As they stated, these young people often do not have any symptoms and may unknowingly infect someone. They are practically at risk, not only the guests who visit such places, but especially those who attend them, considering how many potentially infected and asymptomatic people they come into contact with.

– For example, those who carry the virus to their families are mostly younger members who go to those places, so it is definitely the biggest hot spot, but it is certainly the highest rate of transmission of the virus where it is impossible to reduce the current number of people in the team – says Ranka Savić.

Offices, “open space”

Indoor space, smaller offices, but also so-called “open space” can be great access points, especially if there is no natural ventilation and if the air conditioning is heated.

In this sense, boutiques, shopping malls, shops, if the measures are not followed, can be a propitious ground for the spread of the virus.

Higher infection rate in households

According to research by the Covid-19 Response team at Imperial College London, the “greatest danger” of infection – that is, the highest rate of transmission of the virus in society at large – is not found in travel or, say, meetings public, but at home.

The researchers studied the speed of transmission of the virus under different conditions and found that the speed of transmission is higher in homes than in social gatherings, travel, work or some occasional close contacts. The probability, as they say, of transmission of the infection at home is 21.1 percent.

They also noted that understanding the conditions in which infection occurs most frequently is necessary to reduce transmission while balancing economic performance.
