Lawyers Dragoslav Ljubičanović and Stefan Stojkov were attacked today at the Omladinskih Brigade Street Cadastre in New Belgrade, from where they were transferred to the Emergency Center due to their injuries.
After the discussion about entering the cadastre, both were attacked by a cadastre officer at the scheduled time, and Ljubičanović, who is otherwise the secretary of the Belgrade Bar Association, lost consciousness from the coup.
Both lawyers are currently undergoing a medical examination at the Emergency Center, and the president of the Serbian Bar Association (AKS), Viktor Gostiljac, also reacted on this occasion.
– Immediately after receiving a written letter about this fact from colleagues, AKS will request an explanation to the cadastre about all the circumstances of this attack from our colleagues, which ended up in the Emergency Center – Gostiljac told Tanjug.
What happened, he added, may not be a surprise because it is about the Cadastre, a service that, according to him, is perhaps the most inefficient link in the state system at the moment.
– It is a hermetically closed system and without any control, where citizens find it difficult to exercise their rights – said Gostiljac, pointing out that this case coincided with the intention of the Chamber to inform the citizens and relevant authorities about the problem of the cadastral service.
The work of the cadastre and all the shortcomings of its performance in the next period will be, as stated, the subject of special attention of the Chamber, since what happened to the colleagues is only a consequence of “many years of ostentatious behavior felt in the work and actions of the cadastre “.
The police and the prosecution were informed about the attack.
The Association of Judges and Prosecutors seeks an urgent response from the authorities
The Association of Judges and Prosecutors of Serbia today condemned the attack on lawyers in the New Belgrade Cadastre and requested an urgent reaction from the competent authorities.
– We strongly condemn as a senseless act of violence the cadastral officer in New Belgrade against his colleague Dragoslav Ljubičanović, the secretary of the Belgrade Bar Association – said this professional association in a statement.
It is emphasized that the violent behavior of people and the use of physical force, as a way of solving problems, is never and will not be acceptable in modern society, and that it is very important that they are duly sanctioned and that the Judiciary protect the victims. Citizens of those who decide share the truth.
The UST expects maximum penalties that will prevent further violence, that is, achieve the general prevention purpose, the announcement states.
