After his arrest in April, Slobodan Milosevic was taken to the Central Committee, where he was extradited to The Hague in Vidovdan, one of the biggest Serbian holidays and the date of the colors in Kosovo, which has a special symbolism for Serbian politics.
He was transported by helicopter from Belgrade to the US military base Eagle (Orao) in Tuzla, from where he was transferred to The Hague by military plane.
A video that appeared recently shows the president of the FRY in the waiting room of the US military base in Tuzla: wearing a white shirt and dark suit, he enters accompanied by US soldiers in camouflage uniforms. Slobodan sat for a moment, then walked in a familiar position with his hands behind his back, and then began to speak in English.
Offered with a cigarette, he replied: I will wait for coffee, to which the prosecutor in The Hague told him that the plane could arrive before coffee.
I can’t believe there’s no coffee – said Milosevic with a smile on his face and lit a cigarette.
Then Milosevic washed up and joked that it was better not to drink water before the trip.
In the picture below, he is sitting at a table and the soldiers ask him: Are these drugs for high blood pressure? Do you have any other …
This is the other one. These are beta blockers. And this is nitroglycerin, just in case – said Milosevic, and then answered negatively when the soldiers asked him if he had ever used nitroglycerin. “And this is gum,” he said jokingly.
