The EU Special Representative for the Belgrade-Pristina Dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, said that it was time for the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue process to be completed successfully.
“Today marks exactly 10 years since the United Nations General Assembly welcomed the willingness of the European Union to mediate the dialogue process between Belgrade and Pristina. It is time for it to end successfully,” Lajcak wrote in Twitter
Another round of talks between Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and Kosovo Prime Minister Avdulah Hoti was held in Brussels on Monday, as part of a dialogue under the auspices of the EU.
After the negotiations, Lajcak said “total progress” had been made on previously open issues, economic cooperation and missing and displaced persons.
He said the leaders of Serbia and Kosovo on Monday “discussed for the first time agreements on non-majority communities (in Kosovo), mutual claims and property, on the way to a global agreement on normalization of relations.”
He added that the next meeting within the Brussels dialogue will be dedicated to those two issues.
A meeting of experts will be held next week and Vucic and Hoti will meet again before the end of September.
Today marks 10 years since#UNGAwelcomed the willingness of the to facilitate a dialogue process between Belgrade and Pristina. It’s about time it had a successful ending.
