After the great victory in the parliamentary elections on February 14 in Kosovo, the president of the Self-Determination Movement, Albin Kurti, told the AFP news agency that the focus of the dialogue must be changed, and not only of interests and facts but also of values. And the principles must be controlled. In his words, put both sides in equal positions.

Kurti added that the talks should not focus on how to “compensate” Serbia for the loss of Kosovo, reports RTK2.

“We must speak with Serbia in an honest, open and serious manner,” he added.

Kosovo and Serbia have engaged in direct talks to normalize relations since 2011.

“Reciprocity, equality cannot be the end result (negotiations), but they should be the starting point,” Kurti said.

According to the preliminary results of Sunday’s elections, Kurti’s party got about 47 percent of the vote, followed by the Kosovo Democratic Party with about 17 percent and the Kosovo Democratic League with about 13 percent.

However, Kurti said his government’s priority would not be talks with Serbia, but justice and jobs.

Let us remind you, the president of the Self-Determination Movement and the candidate for prime minister, Albin Kurti, said earlier that this election was confirmed as a referendum.

“The road ahead is long, we will have obstacles and we will make some mistakes, but we have a noble goal. We will not take revenge on anyone, but we will seek justice. “Each of us must take responsibility that belongs to us to make our country possible for life,” said Kurti, as reported by RTK 2.

In the early parliamentary elections held in Kosovo on Sunday, the Self-Determination Movement won, obtaining 48.17 percent of the votes based on 99.88 votes processed, the Central Election Commission announced.
