After meeting with the EU Special Representative for the Belgrade-Pristina Dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, Kurti said that he does not deny the importance of dialogue with Serbia, but that he must be well prepared and be honest.

He said Lajcak briefed him on the overall dialogue process.

“I explained once again that we won this election with our justice and employment program, that we are in the conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic and that we are not against dialogue, but we want it to be principled and well prepared”, Kurti. he told the media after meeting with Lajcak.

Kurti was asked whether dialogue with Serbia will be the first priority when he heads the Kosovo government.

“It cannot be the first or the second priority, because it is justice and employment. I do not deny the importance of dialogue, also for the EU, Kosovo and Serbia and the region, but the most important thing is that this dialogue is well prepared. “To be an honest dialogue where we are not under the pressure of time, but we are committed to the essence,” said Kurti.

He said that during the meeting, there was no discussion about the EU map in which Kosovo is shown as part of Serbia.

Lajcak will meet with the acting president, Vjos Osmani, tomorrow morning, after which a press conference was announced.
