The political destiny of Milo Đukanović will be what he deserved. And Zdravko Krivokapić does not say that, but the experience of other countries teaches us that, says Zdravko Krivokapić in an interview for Nova.rs, after the Montenegrin parliament entrusted him with the mandate for the composition of the new government. It adds that Montenegro “has no reason not to build excellent relations with Serbia.”
“They ask me to apologize to the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić and ask him why I should apologize. I am a Christian and I apologize when I make a mistake. Instead of apologizing, I ask Serbian leaders to cooperate to rebuild what some have destroyed in the last 30 years. ” year, “Krivokapić said in an interview for portal Nova.rs.
According to him, the new government of Montenegro will first have to analyze the burden that the outgoing government has placed on it and that it is extremely important for Montenegro to foster fraternal relations with Serbia.
He recalled that according to the Constitution, the mandate for the composition of the new government must first be entrusted to the President of Montenegro and, from that moment, the legally prescribed period within which the government must be formed.
“I hope that the new government of Montenegro will be formed within the legally prescribed period,” he said.
He also says that “he does not believe that the new government can take a decisive step without analyzing the existing situation.”
“We have to determine exactly what the previous government left us as a burden, and based on that, we will create a strategy to repair the obviously difficult situation,” Krivokapic said.
When asked if he expected obstructions, Krivokapic said that Milo Djukanovic was a politician who had never done anything but politics.
“I would not underestimate the ability of Mr. Djukanovic, nor would I underestimate his need to protect his business, of which there are too many in Montenegro. Above all, however, I would not underestimate the citizens of Montenegro, who said a lot after thirty years. Djukanovic will have He has to choose whether to listen to his political instinct or his instinct for self-preservation. I think he has realized that he no longer has the support of those who voted for him in previous years, as well as those who have always been against him. ” , evaluated Krovokapić.
The political fate of Djukanovic and outgoing Prime Minister Dusko Markovic will be, as he put it, “exactly as they deserved.”
“And Zdravko Krivokapic does not say that, the experience of other countries teaches us that. Find me an example in which autocrats and dictators have a happy ending. To be precise, here I am only talking about political consequences and the political end,” said Krivokapic.
“Disassembling the strange system”
As for whether the three opposition coalitions managed to resolve all the disagreements or whether there are still open questions, Krivokapic said that “three different coalitions went to the polls to overthrow the regime.”
“The first stage has been successfully completed. We are now facing the second, which is the dismantling of the ridiculous system, the reestablishment of state institutions, the establishment of the rule of law. To be short and clear, we must return the state to the people. The strategies are different, but I hope that we will be able to overcome the differences and reach the goal. However, the goal is bigger than our differences. There is no one in any of these three coalitions who does not have a prosperous Montenegro at heart. and successful, and that’s enough capital to get started, “he said. is Krivokapić.
Dritan Abazović and Aleksa Bečić say they are “the future of Montenegro”.
Along with other young people of his generation, who are in the three winning coalitions. Young, educated, uncorrupted and above all patriots. Although they are young, they are not beginners in politics and I am not ashamed to admit that I would. He was 62 years old and had something to learn from them, “says Krivokapić.
Regarding whether he changed his mind about Milan Knezevic and Andrija Mandic, the Montenegrin Prime Minister-designate says:
Andrija Mandic and Milan Knezevic are veterans of the Montenegrin political scene, perhaps side by side with Djukanovic himself. They have been in politics for a long time, they have maintained the fire of resistance to the regime for a long time and that is for the respect of all. but now I have the opportunity to look at politics and processes from the inside. Of course, sometimes it happens that our opinions do not coincide. I attribute it to my inexperience, but it is no secret that we look at certain topics differently. But there is a saying when we agree and when we disagree, let it be in love. As for me, it will be like that ”, he emphasized.
The role of the Church is indisputable, but complete
He adds that the Church’s “ambition to get involved in political life ended the moment it heard a promise” from them from the three winning coalitions that it would withdraw the controversial Religious Freedom Act.
“The role of the Church in the overthrow of the regime is indisputable, and it is clear to all. I would just like to clarify right now, the Church is involved in this process because it had to defend itself. With magnificent liturgies, which were a peaceful Christian rebellion, the Church is articulating discontent with many other things in Montenegrin society. It was only necessary for parties to appear on the political market that could capitalize on this discontent in the elections, which they did. As far as I know, and I appreciate being well informed, the Church’s ambitions to get involved in political life ended the moment it heard a promise from us from the three victorious coalitions that we would withdraw the controversial Freedom of Religion Act. The church’s mediator at a time when it was mired in negotiations is nothing more than a reflection of the spiritual authority of Montenegro. Neither Metropolitan Amfilohije nor Bishop Joanikije have demands in the direction of interest in the composition of the government or how the division will be. departments, “says Krivokapić.
It is scandalous that Vučić did not visit Montenegro
“It is unacceptable that Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić did not come to Montenegro once in his eight years in power. Neither as Prime Minister nor as President. Mr. Đukanović did not go to Belgrade either. Sorry, that it is unacceptable to my understanding of relations with “Serbia. Serbia is not just a neighboring country for us, Serbia is a sister country for us. Our brothers, relatives, godparents live there, our children study, our people are treated in hospitals, “he says.
And ask: why should you apologize?
“I am asked to apologize to President Vučić, and I ask him why I should apologize. I am a Christian, and I apologize when I make a mistake. Rather than apologize, I ask Serbian leaders to cooperate, to rebuild what some have destroyed in the last thirty years. ” show our citizens with our personal relationships, based on respect, that there is no one who can stand between the relations between our two countries, “said Krivokapic.
And he adds: there is no reason why Serbia and Montenegro should not establish excellent relations.
“And there is hardly any area in which these relationships have not deteriorated. I am more than willing to do everything possible to make these relationships what our citizens expect of us. That is, as history and tradition dictate. After all, to be as our European friends ask us, we have placed regional cooperation high on their list of priorities, “he said.
When asked whether it is not excluded that someday he visits Vučić or that Vučić visits him in Podgorica, Krivokapić said: “Why would I exclude that? It certainly will not be me who will suffer the relations between our two countries. I already said that it is scandalous that the president of Serbia did not come to Montenegro for so long, but vice versa. “
