Sinisa Kovacevic, vice president of the Popular Party, writer and director, speaks for Danas

“If Hrabrisa, Marko Atlagic, the deputy of the Serbian Progressive Party, had defended Krajina with which he defended the Leader, he would still be a minister in Knin. So, he raised his tail and here it is, after the Croatian Parliament in the Serbian Assembly.

In a conversation with Danas, Siniša Kovačević, vice president of the People’s Party, writer and director and author of the novel “River with four estuaries”, commented on the claims of the SNS Atlagić deputy that he advocates that a group of intellectuals have so many deaths as possible from the crown, without helping the people with a hundred euros. Kovacevic, as he himself says, is dismayed by the fact that these accusations and threats of beatings were made from the parliamentary platform, in his absence, and that the President of Parliament Ivica Dacic did not react in any way and did not even sing anything.

* The accusations are serious when you say someone wants as many dead as possible in their own country.

– They are not accusations, they are nonsense. You can only expect such idiocy from someone who brought into the Serbian parliament the moans, howls and howls and the fanatical courtly enthusiasm with which he pays his boss for being bitten by a naked naked man. The man is a university professor, who has the obligation to make students not only experts but also people. Blessed are the children. I can imagine with what eagerness and joy they rush to attend those lectures. By the way, my children were crowned, some of the students and close friends and I prayed loudly to God for all of them to die. Or at least one of them. Stupid. The only thing I managed to do was organize the collection of signatures and organize elections and now I keep open cafes and rafts and manipulate the opinions of the Crisis Staff … Here, I admit, I am responsible for some deaths … He hits me when he finds me And since I live near the Assembly, now I only go out at night. Before dawn, especially … I am glad that the talented Leader, as the inspired speaker says in his book on budget rebalancing, has delivered one hundred of his euros to all adult citizens of Serbia. That is about six million. Unfortunately, I don’t have that money. And that I have where I come from. I don’t build roads or railways, I don’t drive Krušik, I’m far from Belgrade for water, I don’t sell Vojvodina … Five hundred million can be found, but where can I find another hundred … Wait, as you think, the leader did not give his money … so the MP he says he did.

* How do you comment on the fact that the President of Parliament did not take Atlagić’s word, despite the fact that he spoke of people who are not in the room, are not deputies and are not on the agenda?

– He was probably busy with more important things. Possibly a new Khalid song was memorized by heart. Or he was fond of rhetorical bravado, so he did not want to interrupt the enthusiastic deputy. Or it is part of the agreement on the electoral campaign carried out from the Assembly. By facts and ignorance. Lack of homeschooling. According to the rules according to which the controversy works, now he would have to get eight minutes of assembly in the same period, on television, of course. Tolerating insults and lies about an absent man is not just political primitivism.

* Did any of your colleagues from the opposition and from cultural and public life come forward in your defense, that is, in defense of the decency of parliament and parliamentary regulations?

– Of course. But not enough. It’s not about Siniša Kovačević, I can handle that, I have it on my shoulders. These are political and ethical principles. On the introduction of violence, primitivism, ignorance, vulgarity and corruption in public discourse. However, it is good that your colleague, faced with a similar problem, had much more support.

* After such provocations, did you regret choosing to be on the side of the opposition and not having chosen, like the Prime Minister, the side of the Serbian Progressive Party?

– I do not regret it because in that case I would be in the same party as the Prime Minister. I couldn’t sleep under someone else’s roof, on someone else’s monogrammed pillows and eat beans from someone else’s toilet. I made my ceilings for myself, inherited monogrammed pillows and plates from my mother and father. And our Prime Minister is not the only one in the habit of kidnapping others. By the way, it is not the village of Jovanka Broz (where Prime Minister Ana Brnabić should move, editor’s note), but the kidnapped home of Milan Savčić, the pre-war mayor of the capital. And the fact that my heroic breasts won’t adorn the Order of the Leader with a large amount of alcohol, I will somehow endure.

* In an environment so polarized between the government and the opposition, how is inter-party dialogue possible with the mediator, the Speaker of Parliament, Ivica Dačić, who claims that the opposition is an empty purse and the Minister of Social Dialogue Gordana Čomić?

– I don’t know how much dialogue is possible with the people mentioned, but it is necessary … I don’t know if the bag is empty, but I suppose there was no suitcase. It will be difficult to talk to people without credibility. It is like negotiating with a pickpocket, you gave the money, but you ask him to return at least the documents. Here the presence of the police is necessary.

* What is the smallest item that must be reached through dialogue between the government and the opposition, and does an agreement have any purpose, if the opposition is not on television with public frequency, or only in a negative context?

– The smallest element is access to electronic media. And not only to RTS as state television, but also to all other televisions with national frequencies. Let’s forever break the mythologist that these are private televisions. If you have rented your empty apartment to someone, it does not mean that he is the owner of the apartment, that he can lay parquet and have chickens on the terrace. Nothing here is private except buildings and appliances.

* Did you know who the mice are licking Biden, as President Vučić claims, as opposed to him, who, as he says, will leave Serbia victorious and not courteous?

– I don’t know who the mice are. I don’t know enough fan-street lingo. It’s certainly not about the president. I remember how he heroically sat in front of Trump, with what heroism he sat in the last row in front of Macron, with Leonid’s determination, waited for several hours for a reception at Putin, how he ruined everything on his mustache and TV presenters several times. about the lion. I just don’t understand why there is so much love for cheese and fear of cats.

* Do you share President Vučić’s view that it would be better for Serbia if Trump won in the United States and not Biden?

– I’m not an expert on foreign policy … But obviously, he’s not the president either. Put the eggs in the wrong basket twice. The fact that he participated in the defeated candidate’s campaign will cost us for sure. How Milosevic’s bet on Zyuganov cost us. Your right is to do whatever you want with your eggs, but this is also about our eggs.
