He told Tanjug that the virus was detected in 28 high schools and as many elementary schools, and that the student infections were in the family or in family contact, outside of school.
Transmission of the virus between students took place in two high schools and those groups of students immediately switched to online classes.
– A monitoring system has been created that works under these conditions. Whether there will be school closings or not depends on the assessment of the virus infusion in schools and whether it will affect the organization of classes itself, Kon said.
As for kindergartens, he states that employees get sick more often than children, that children have a mild clinical picture even if they are infected.
– Since the employees wear masks, if it appears that someone is infected, there is no need to send the children to isolation and home quarantine – he explained.
Kon stated that after the worsening of the epidemiological situation in Serbia regarding the corona virus, there are reasons for parents to consider not taking their child to kindergarten, but that kindergarten is the only solution for employed parents.
