KONTIĆ SUDDENLY ATTACKED: What did Miljan M. (28), a resident of Belgrade, a victim of brutal beatings in Novi Sad say at the hearing?

According to unofficial information, he told everything that can be seen in the images of the surveillance cameras, in which this incident was recorded.

He allegedly said that Kontić beat him on the street that night and did not say anything specific about the reason for the fight, that is, why he brutally attacked him. As we learn, the beating victim also said that he knew the suspect Kontić as a friend of his brother.

– Miljan M. said he was sitting in a bar when someone knocked on his door, and he went outside – says our source of the investigation. – Then, he allegedly saw Kontić, who immediately attacked him, after which he fell to the ground.

Kontić is under investigation on suspicion that he committed the crime of attempted murder. Two weeks later a disturbing video of what happened that night on Jevrejska Street appeared on social media, and Miljan ended up in hospital with injuries, while suspect Kontić left Novi Sad and fled to Montenegro.

In the early days, while still on his sickbed due to serious injuries, Miljan M. did not cooperate with the police and did not give a statement to the inspectors who visited him twice. In this regard, he was silent before the investigators until September 2, when he filed a criminal complaint and declared who had caused him serious injuries. Shortly thereafter, the police received a recording of unpleasant scenes on Jevrejska Street.

According to the international arrest warrant issued against him, Kontić was arrested on October 11 in Podgorica in a rented apartment. Our Ministry sent a request to Montenegro for his extradition, and the Podgorica High Court approved the extradition of Nikšićanin through an expedited procedure. It is expected that he will soon be brought before our judicial authorities. Kontić did not appeal this decision of the Podgorica court.

FROM DETENTION TO DOMESTIC PRISON

NEXT to Kontić, OL, who is accused of participating in the fight, is also suspected. Meanwhile, he was released and sent home to serve house arrest with electronic surveillance, to which he was convicted of another crime. On the other hand, LV, when the procedure was carried out on the suspicion that he helped OL after the commission of the crime, he was released to defend himself in the subsequent process.
