Epidemiologist and crisis staff member Predrag Kon stated that the number of people infected with the coronavirus is expected to continue to grow in the next ten days.

He added that the number of infected could reach more than 2,000 per day and that the number of deaths from kovid 19 would be in the double digits.
Kon said that next week and “in the part of the following week”, there will be more than 2,000 new infected with the crown every day.
He said that there are 980 new cases in Belgrade alone and that this is an increase from day to day.
“There was no rest any day, it is a classic exponential increase. That increase clearly shows what will happen at least this week and part of the next,” Kon said.
He stated that for now, there is no dramatic increase in the number of deaths, but that based on the new cases recorded per day, this number can be expected to soon reach double digits.
He warned that the filling of hospitals, which is expected, will lead to a critical situation, adding that for now only patients with a severe and moderate clinical picture are admitted.
He explained that of the total number of infected daily, about 15 percent have a more serious clinical picture and about five percent of those who require intensive care and a respirator.
“Capacity filling will accelerate during the week, the problem will increase,” Kon said.
He mentioned that he asked for the official ban on contacts because, as he said, the measures in the form of recommendations are not respected enough.
“This problem is being solved with the strict implementation of measures, but for now, the administrative-bureaucratic part regarding the measures themselves, as well as the supervision on the implementation of home isolation, is a bit late and that must be fixed.” Kon said.
