The epidemiologist and member of the Crisis Staff Predrag Kon said that tomorrow in the Crisis Staff session it will be decided to extend the existing measures, but also on the possible introduction of new ones, to the point that restrictions on movement should be considered for the New Year. .
Kon told Prva TV that there will be new measures at the borders, the only technical question is how they will be implemented.
According to him, the big question is whether it is possible to control private New Year celebrations and “that’s why you have to think about restricting circulation.” Kon said those responsible for the measures are seeking balance, but they obviously haven’t found enough ways to convince people to think differently.
This is the moment of heroism in the medical sector. There is a parallel life: there is a state of war in one, and there are those who flee from it, who want to live a normal life at any cost. And that’s where the balance needs to be found, Kon explained.

Kon said that the daily numbers have been decreasing in the previous days, but that there is even more income than hospital discharges.

What now works with the exchange of personnel in the medical system can only be compared to a state of war. Kon estimated that the situation was very similar in March, as it is now, ideal for the transmission of the virus, and that the effects of the state of emergency were seen.
“It is clear to us that this is the most effective measure. It depends on whether we will resort to it, we insist that all measures are respected, such as the prohibition of gathering more than five people,” Kon said, adding that the medical part of the Crisis Staff. that there should be no meetings, if that is not the case then the State should insist on the measures to implement it ”.
Speaking of the kovid-19 vaccine, Kon said that prioritization is very good, and that when vaccination does not go through groups quickly, it is necessary to let others vaccinate.
Kon expressed his hope that Serbia will emerge from the epidemic next year.
It will be easier with that vaccine, but even without that vaccine, we will get out of this problem. What is very important is to raise herd immunity with the vaccine as much as possible, because that is the most important thing, he said and repeated that masks still have to be used.
“We should not allow ourselves to relax and pretend there is no virus, that is not wise, but it is a big mistake,” Kon told TV Prva.
