Kon reveals how many weeks we have ahead: “A state of emergency is not ruled out either”

Belgrade – Serbian society shows that it is not prepared to understand that the coronavirus has not started and that it will now have the greatest potential in the third wave before winter, says Dr. Predrag Kon.

“The power of the virus is greater now. We have not had the wave that comes now,” said the epidemiologist.

He adds that just because hospitals aren’t full now doesn’t mean they won’t be. “It is important for us to preserve non-Kovid capabilities,” says Kon.

Kon said estimates are that this third wave could last 12 to 16 weeks.

“If we are in Belgrade in the third week, there are still many months ahead, we already see it. It would be ideal if all this does not happen and that we suppress the third wave using masks,” Kon told Kurir television.

As he says, a tax is paid if citizens do not believe the virus exists.

He called on citizens to wear a mask, to avoid contact by placing a barrier.

According to him, in Serbia, citizens must change their behavior, because “salvation is only in our hands.”

“It is very important to wear a mask correctly,” Kon said.

Kon says that for now, no state of emergency is an option.

“There are people who do not accept that the crown exists at all, there are always around 10 percent of them,” said the epidemiologist.

He added that if everyone wore masks en masse, always and in every situation, they would be protected and 300,000 fewer would die.

“So far, distance, hand washing and masks are our best defense at the moment,” Kon said, adding that this is not just a WHO stance, but a general stance.

He recalled that in June there were numerous celebrations, a large number of graduations, birthdays, weddings, and that then there was the explosion of the crown and the largest number of deaths.
