The introductory presentation of the defense in the proceedings against Predrag Koluvija, majority owner of the agricultural estate “Jovanjica”, who is accused of organizing a criminal group that is dedicated to the production of narcotics, continued on Wednesday before the Special Court of Belgrade.

Besides him, there are eight other suspects on the dock.

Koluvija’s defense attorney, attorney Zora Dobricanin Nikodinovic, once again refuted the prosecution’s evidence, claiming that 1.6 tons of cannabis, as claimed, but industrial hemp were not found on the plantation near Stara Pazova. He added that the indictment does not establish who, when, in what way dried, cut and packaged the cannabis.

“Each plant in ‘Jovanjica’ had an individual declaration and its own barcode, more precisely a kind of ‘identity card’,” said Zora Dobričanin Nikodinović, adding:

“This evidence was removed by the police during the seizure, who broke the chain of evidence and lost track of the plants.”
