The president of the Serbian Football Association (FS S), Slaviša Kokeza, decided today to present his irrevocable resignation from that position.
As stated in the announcement, he resigned in the face of the accusations and the brutal attacks on him, and for the defense of parts that are being desecrated.
“I want to inform my associates, as well as the sports and football public, that I am resigning as president of the Serbian Football Association. Desiring, above all, to give the selection the necessary peace, I am ready for a new fight in which I will do everything possible to deny the attacks on my name and personality.“said Kokeza.
Slavisa Kokeza has never been and never will be a suspicious person for people with whom he shared the same values for almost 20 years, he added.
“Respecting everything that was built into that relationship, no one should defend Aleksandar Vučić and Serbia from Slaviša Kokeza, because Slaviša Kokeza was with Aleksandar Vučić and Serbia when many did not dare or did not want to. Proud then, proud even now when brutally dangerous falsehoods are presented, which of course caused damage to the function that I will no longer perform. I am resigning as president of the Serbian Football Association to put my whole being at the service of justice and truth, which will be my guide in the future.“Kokeza said.
In this way, Kokeza points out, I wish that the Serbian Football Association and our best national team, which is about to start in the World Cup qualifiers, bring peace and stability, so that we can approach with as few problems as possible in the game. Portugal can be key in the fight for a place in the Qatar World Cup in 2022.
“I am happy, satisfied and proud that on that path, the national team will lead, in my opinion, the most important name in the history of our football, Dragan Stojković. I wish him, as well as all the people in the Football Association system, every success in the future.“Kokeza said.
Kokeza spent almost five years as president of the Serbian Football Association, that is, since May 2016.
During his tenure, footballers from Serbia managed to earn a place at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
Kokeza was recently brought to the Organized Crime Service for an informational interview.
