KIKINDA – In a situation where, in addition to chronic fatigue, kovid is increasingly removing “white coats” from work, as is the case at Kikinda hospital, the inclusion of new doctors at work is news that cheers up his already exhausted colleagues.
On Monday, Dr. Mariana Vilotijević (29) from Kragujevac, who enrolled in the infectious diseases specialization a few months ago, visited the Department of Infectious Diseases. His colleagues, Dr. Tijana Marcheta (34) from Kikinda, a specialist in internal medicine, and Dr. Aleksandra Dašić (28) from Ljig, a second-year specialist in internal medicine, were happy with the booster.
The image of two young doctors in spacesuits has gone viral on social media these days. They cared for kovid patients in the Department of Infectious Diseases after two of their colleagues, infectious disease specialists, had to go on sick leave due to serious chronic diseases:
– I found myself in this department only three and a half months after the specialization. On the first line of defense against kovid, there is also my youngest colleague, Dr. Aleksandra Dašić. We were sincerely happy when another young colleague, Dr. Mariana Vilotijević, joined us.
On several occasions, he came to this department and helped when necessary. He also worked at the fever clinic at Kikinda Hospital. I hope you stay here longer because Alexandra and I alone can no longer carry out this work mentally and physically. Dr. Marcheta is honest. In addition to the now famous space suit photography, he kindly gave us Dr. Dašić’s:
Help Doctors, Reduce Contacts
Figuratively, Kikinda is burning from the crown. There really are a lot of people infected. I urge my fellow citizens to wear masks, wash their hands, and avoid contact with other people. I call on high school and college students to take care of themselves, but also the lives of their elderly relatives and relatives. There will be time to hang out. If you want to help us, reduce the contacts – emphasizes Dr. Marcheta.
Sick doctors, nurses, laboratory assistants …
Seven doctors, eight nurses, four laboratory assistants and three medical workers were infected with the corona at Kikinda hospital. Three anesthesiologists test positive, so only three more doctors from the same specialty work. The situation is not better in the Health Center either. Kovid laid off six doctors, two dentists, four nurses and three non-medical workers.
– We still haven’t taken pictures with Marian. We honestly don’t have time. Although our working hours are 7 to 14 hours, we often stay in the room longer for several hours. A colleague Aleksandra stayed at work until 10 pm a few days ago, after a patient’s health became complicated. Later I returned to the living room to help her. It is not easy and simple, but we have chosen this invitation. We do it with a lot of love and enthusiasm. With the arrival of Dr. Vilotijević, it will be a little easier for us because we are obliged to be ready 24 hours a day. This means that the phone rings often at night. After that, sleep does not reach the eyes, and patients and work await the next morning, says Dr. Marcheta. The oldest doctor in the Department of Infectious Diseases admits she has a great team of people:
– There are our nurses, led by the head nurse, Milica Isakov, but also our young colleagues from the fever clinic. They do most of the work. I also admire our anesthesiologists. They are always there to help us. The Department of Infectious Diseases has 14 beds, but we in the hospital also have the so-called Infectious Diseases 2, which is part of the Department of Internal Medicine. It is run by Dr. Nenad Veljković, who is several years older than me, says Dr. Marcheta.
